Different readings charging vs non charging?

I'm not sure if this a placebo or not but I swear my machine reads more accurately when it is not charging, I run the app through network mode and when I plug the unit into my usb charger and the lightning bolt appears indicating charging and my shots seem "off"... anyone else experiencing this?

I believe it is USB noise issues.. I wrote a long thread about it a while back where my solution was to buy a higher quality power strip to charge the SkyTrak (note: I also use it in USB mode not just for charging).

I have been dealing with this issue for a few months now. I have similar issues to what you wrote about and Ive gone so far as to buy the power strip and shielded USB cables. I even bought an anti static mat that i keep the Skytrak on but the problem still persists.

No matter what Ive tried, Skytrak stops working as soon as the USB is plugged in. Even when plugged into the power strip directly. Its a shame as Ive been using the Skytrak without issue for years now.

I also did the factory reset so my wifi network was "forgotten" by the SkyTrak. Also make sure the unit is off, plug in the USB, and then turn it on. It triggers something when the SkyTrak is turned on and detects a USB cable is plugged in.

Well this assumes you use USB mode which I realize is a bad assumption on my part. If you are in another mode, and then plug in the USB for charging only, maybe that confuses SkyTrak like its toggling between the two modes.

I’ve been having some issues recently with misreads. I tried everything and nothing seemed to help until I took the unit out of the FMJ case and started to run it over WiFi and not usb, while also unplugging the charger during operation. I swear it runs like a different unit now and has been absolutely on point since. Worth a shot if your having issues.

Agreed, I keep mine in the FMJ but unplug charging cord while in use. I have a USB wireless network adapter on my PC and connect to my unit in direct connect mode. I also have ethernet to the computer to have internet access. I hit 250 shots last 3 days and not one miss read. 100 shots with my wedge and rest 9,8,7 iron. This has been the most stable connection.

I would hate to take it out of the FMJ but it sounds like that could be one of the issues. Ill try the reset tonight. Is that just the red button on the bottom?

It’s on the bottom of the unit, can’t recall but I don’t think it was colored

We have two skytrak's and two bays. The one in the back had an issue where the laser would turn on and off a lot. The unit was false triggering to pick up shots. Long story short, after a LOT of trouble shooting and trying various things, the solution ended up being the charging block the usb cable was plugged into. We ordered some 15' charging cables for our units and they came with charging blocks that were the same voltage, and amperage as the oem skytrak blocks. As soon as I swapped the block that came with our generic cable out for the oem Skytrak one our issue went away. So there is no doubt in my mind chargers can have an effect on the units, however I am not sure about whether or not it is possible they have an effect on ball metering and calculated flight path.
