I am new to Skytrak and am finding the same thing. It is a little frustrating that the SkyTrak moves around in the FMJ (it would seem a snug fit would be better). Makes alignment more difficult and the unit moves around in the case when I hit the power or connect the USB cable. I have been aiming the unit with the alignment sticks and my unit ends up in a similar position to yours, to get the shots to go where they should, mostly trial and error. I wonder if 2-sided tape inside the FMJ would help? Haven't tried a laser...

Isn't there screw holes through the bottom to prevent it from moving around?

Wbond is correct. Your unit shouldn’t be moving around unless you didn’t properly screw it in place.

Edit - sorry, just saw your other comment.

Yes, thanks, just saw them and found the three screws at the bottom of the box, and now the unit is secure in the case (unit and FMJ were purchased off eBay with no instructions for FMJ). I still seem to need the alignment of the unit less than parallel, as Celeras posted, in order to get it to read shot direction correctly.

There was enough play in the holes to allow you to skew the skytrak and have the front of the FMJ be parallel to your target line. Once set, tighten screws and you should be good to go
