    Fast swing speed and Skytrak

    Hi everyone,

I'm thinking about buying a Skytrak, but I have noticed in some of the threads that accuracy can be a problem with high swing speeds? Or even a lot of missed readings?

To give you an idea with my driver I have a swingspeed of about 116mph, 8 iron is 97mph, 7 iron around 100mph. Is this is a problem for the Skytrak? Or should I be looking for another launchmonitor?

I have had problems at an indoor range nearby (Sport Coach golf simulator) with driver and 3 woods (not registering shots) before, so I want to make sure I will not run into the same problem with a Skytrak.

    Thank you for your feedback.

    Best regards,
    Jan

Skytrak wil read you just fine but it might be 5-6 mph ball speed slower than you expect. No biggie your score will be determined by wedge play short game and putting and that will all be spot on.

OK I used to use and sell Sports Coach and they don't read my drivers or 3w either... my driver SS is 106mph. with smash factor 1.49 you will be around 172mph ball speed. I think some people have reported lower ball speeds over 170mph (so 175 showing as 170), but it is also being fixed up Seth and co

          106 x 1.49 = 157.94. With 106 swing speed, you'll never go over 160 ball speed assuming perfect smash is 1.5.

A bit of topic here, but these Sports Coach systems are not accurate at all in that place nearby. I'm hitting about 165meters (~180yards) with my pitching wedge at times. It's really all over the place. From what I have read, a Skystrak system should deliver far superior results.
      Working...
