So am I correct in my research on here that Fiberbuilt is the way to go for a great all-around hitting mat? Seems to get high praises on here, especially for helping with ST accuracy. I'm interested in other options too, especially now that the 4x5 FB mats are all sold out. Not sure when they'll be available again.

I've only seen 1 complaint ever about fiberbuilt mats and believe it is the way to go. The complaint was the user felt they were hitting off the end of a broom and I suspect they bought the longer rough version instead of the fairway version.
At any rate I've used CCE, DivotAction and a couple of other no-names and once I went to Fiberbuilt I've not even considered switching.

That's helpful to know, I was looking at the DivotAction as well but given your statement, seems the FB is the way to go. What about tees?Originally posted by frodaddy00 View PostI've only seen 1 complaint ever about fiberbuilt mats and believe it is the way to go. We no longer have a Costco near us, let the membership lapse. Thx though.Originally posted by SkeetShooter View PostCOSTCO has the practice station on sale right now for $199 pre-tax shipped. I just bought it and its coming today. I had a CCE and my elbow has been killing me. I'm hoping that the fiberbuilt resolves that issue.

I have a small testimony on mats that might be helpful. When I first started with my sim in December of 17' I was hitting off of a CCE type mat. I developed tendinitis in both wrist that required some rest and wearing of splints while I slept. I ended up getting a Fiberbuilt stand alone FlightDeck. The only problem with this mat was it sets the ball several inches above your feet so I had to build a platform around it. This worked well for a while until I started wearing holes in the carpet surrounding the Fiberbuilt. I had my eye on the mat that SkeetShooter mentioned but refused to spend $400+ on a mat. One of our great members posted how it was on sale at Costco for 50% off. I purchased it online since the closest store is at least 40 minutes away and immediately fell in love with it after setting it up. It comes with the same Flightdeck mat that I already have, so now I have a sprare if needed. Also, the alignment rods are great additions to have available. I highly recommend getting the deal at Costco while it's available!

Wow, looks like Fiberbuilt has updated both the consumer and commercial websites. Looks like they only have one website now and the options on what to purchase are very limited. They don't even have 1x4 grass listed, only 1x3, and I know they still sell them. I just received my Traditional 4x5 mat with a rubber base last week with 1x4 grass for $749 delivered. I would suggest you call the salesman I was dealing with and see if he can help you out. His name is Dave and his direct number is 442-777-5718. If you want the 4x5 with 1x4 grass and rubber base for $749, tell him you are looking for the same thing Dave from Brentwood CA just purchased.Originally posted by Dan King View PostSo am I correct in my research on here that Fiberbuilt is the way to go for a great all-around hitting mat? If using a Fiberbuilt mat/grass, I would suggest one of the Fiberbuilt adjustable tees. They work great and are adjustable to the height you prefer. I was using tomahawk tees prior to getting the Fiberbuilt mat and tee. It's great not having to chase after the tees after each hit.Originally posted by Dan King View Postfrodaddy00 Yeah, those tees are fine except I would have to find taller ones 3 1/4" for my driver.

I've never tried the FB, but I highly recommend the Raw Hide Grade A mats. Hard to beat at $200 - but it won't be brand new / perfect. I've had no issues whatsoever with my elbows / joints like I did on the Thrasher and CCE mats that I went through and sold / returned.
I have one and it's shown no additional wear since I got it. Would absolutely buy again. See here: https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...n-rawhide-wins

Second the recommendation of FB mat. I used Truestrike for a season; great mat when it was new however the gel section seems to wear off quickly and lost “cushion” feel after about half a year. Bought a two side FB mat a month ago and love it!! I bought from the FB website and paid $1k. Definitely not looking back!

Another vote for Fiberbuilt. I use the practice station with my Skytrak. It is so easy on the joints which lets you hit down on the ball to make sure you don't develop bad habits that can happen with other mats. I also use birtees with the tee claw. It works great for keeping the tee from flying around. Good luck with your mat choice!

I have a fiberbuilt two sided mat. Only issue is the strip elevates the ball maybe 1/4”. It requires a choke up as the height difference is definitely different than being on real turf. I just put two pieces of 4x4 linoleum underneath the one side for right handers. It’s now perfect. I really like this mat a lot but it was 1k
