Hi guys,
I finally got the (official) FMJ skytrak case. Very well designed. I'm very pleased.
I no longer need the homemade polycarbonate shield I made. It's 0.25" lexan, and it definitely works great for righties (haven't tested it for lefties). Have been using it for about 2 years now. I drew sharpie lines to help with aligning it with the skytrak, though they're beginning to fade.
I'm happy to give it to whoever wants it for extra protection to anyone without a case. It's not pretty, but it has worked great for me. I accept no responsibility for any damage it causes or fails to protect from, so the terms of accepting it include holding me free of fault for any damage or issues caused. (The only issue I foresee is to be careful that the firm corners of the shield don't scratch the skytrack when you get it into position.)
Just pay me back for the shipping.
Here's a picture from when it was new. It's got a few more scratches now, but still works when aligned properly. May need to use a strap or something to attach it, though I used a single low-height bookend (such as a sample picture attached....make sure it's not too high to block the optical zone..or turn the bookend on its back so the height is lower on the Skytrak) to keep them together with a textbook that was the same height as my hitting mat.
