    New to Skytrak setup

Hi. I have just acquired a Skytrak, predominantly for outdoor use with game improvement package. Unfortunately, I have no inside area with adequate ceiling height and therefore little opportunity to use as a full simulator. However, I am hoping that it should improve my golf overall if I put in some effort.
One question on the positioning of the ST - I can see all posts regarding alignment etc but can anyone tell me this. if I use the ST outside, should it be "level" or does that mean parallel and perpendicular to the hitting mat which might be on a small incline?
    Thanks

if Skytrak isn’t level it will give misreads. Not sure how it would work with unlevel hitting area.

Make it level by adjusting the feet on the protective case. Also parallel to your target line.

Wiz, how were you able to align it parallel with the target line? When I went into "alignment," it gives the pitch and yaw essentially of the ST but doesn't allow you to look at the driving range and align up to the center line. I went to this video on using a laser line but I don't know how this guy was able to see go into alignment mode AND still see the driving range half of the screen. Instead I get a popup for that pitch and yaw thingy. Maybe I'm not doing it right or something.

I can't see the range at the same time either. The Par2Pro video MUST be an old firmware? If you are using laser line, just leave the laser on then adjust in on the range to match where the laser is.

@ Calebm. Yup, that's what I did. Video must represent an older version of the ST software.

Thanks for the replies, but i'm still unsure. If my hitting mat is on a very slight incline, but i adjust the ST to level, does that not mean I am effectively hitting into a slope which will then misread the figures? Surely the ST should be level with the mat, but following the same degree of incline so that mat and ST are parallel to each other to give a true reading.

I don’t think Skytrak is reading your mat... it’s reading the ball and ball only, theoretically, it doesn’t matter whether your stance mat is level or not, just so long as the Skytrak is.

However, if you are hitting on an incline, then expect your numbers for vertical launch angle to be high, do to physics. The ball comes out higher in that case than it normally would on a level ground.

If yours is nearly level but has just a bit of incline then I’m sure you’re fine.
        Working...
