    Golf ball placement

My matt is outside on the grass. If I push down on the matt the red dot moves about 1 cm. Am I best placing the ball on the matt where the red dot is, or where it is actually pointing to when I press the matt down a little...or does it make absolutely no difference!?

I don't think it matters from my recent experience. I used to think I had to place the ball in a particular spot for irons, fairway woods, driver, and putter. However, I got a new Fiberbuilt mat/stance combo and have learned I have a bigger window to place the ball than I originally thought. I will have my iron placement about 2-3 inches to the right of the red dot so the ball is centered in my stance. Then the ball will be 2-3 inches to the left of the dot with my driver on a tomahawk tee so the ball is near my left foot (right handed swing).

I also read on here folks are placing the ball in different spots around the laser dot, e.g., behind the dot for driver, right on for short irons, etc. I've found that's not necessary. I put my tee pretty much on the dot for driver (using 3 1/4" tees) or slightly behind it and it reads my drives fine. Same with fairway woods.
