Connecting E6 or TGC 2019 via mobile internet on a laptop

Hi

I want to purchase either E6 or TGC 2019 to play whilst at my local driving range. It looks like you have to be online to play though. Does anyone know if you can connect a laptop up via a dongle to the internet and get the simulator software to work? or does it have to be a home Wi-fi system. I try to test this via connecting my laptop up direct with my iphone via personal hotspot connection but it didnt seem to work.

I have played using a hotspot on my phone and a Myfi device, you will have to connect Skytrak via a USB cable though. Does the driving range not have wifi?

no, its got no wifi at all. I tried connecting my iphone with a usb cable... my laptop could load pages on google/explorer but the e6 demo wouldn't register with my laptop. no idea why. are you getting via a Myfi or phone or both? i'm not really sure how these things work.

I have used either my phone or a myfi both do the same job. As long as your laptop has internet connectivity the software shouldn’t care. So hotspot on your phone, then connect laptop via WiFi ( don’t need cable )to the phones hotspot, then SkyTrak to laptop via USB cable. I know this works with TGC but can’t comment on E6 as I used the demo when I had hard wired internet but I would be very surprised if that didn’t also work via this method.
