Trick to fiberbuilt mats??

I ordered to fiberbuilt flight deck to test before i pull the trigger on a full size mat. I adjusted my SkyTrak to ensure its at the same height, for some reason it isnt reading 50% of my shots. Am I missing something??

I have to believe there is something else at play here. Most people have reported an improvement in lower # of misreads when switching to Fiberbuilt..myself included.

Did anything else change from your old mat to Fiberbuilt? The bottom of the SkyTrak is aligned with the hitting surface?

Background change? I absolutely had way fewer non reads with fiberbuilt vs cce. Due to resistance and movement of the set up with cce.

The flight deck isn't the same material as the larger Fiberbuilt hitting stations. It's a poly material vice the straight nylon in the bigger mats, and less dense as well, which makes the flight deck material thinner and with more give, causing the ball to shift slightly when hitting, especially if a touch fat, which leads to more misreads. I saw the same thing on my GC2. I also tried a flight deck to see if I'd like Fiberbuilt and only realized later that they're two entirely different products and people on this forum are likely reporting results from the larger hitting stations. By the way, I hated the flight deck and it's why I went with Truestrike rather than the larger Fiberbuilt stations. I'm sure the bigger ones are better, but didn't like the fluffy lie.

Yeah I have the 3 sections of fiberbuilt next to a hitting mat that I use for stance.

Did not realize the deck is different than the strip. I just purchased a deck to hack into my mat(thought I was getting away with a cheaper fiberbuilt alternative...)

now i I might have to reconsider my setup...

If you are looking for inserts, they sell 12" x 12" for around $60 USD. I use 2 of them (12 x 24) and it works out great.

Most driving ranges that use the strip have 4 12" x 12" . I usually keep a look out at my local driving range cause they replace them from time to time and sell the strips at a really good price.
Usually around 35-40 dollars I buy a couple, take them apart , then make a good one out of the best pieces. Cheap way to do it.

Jrod45 Is this the FiberBuilt you have? I have this one and it works just fine with my SkyTrak. I hit plenty of shots fat and the ST picks them up without any issues. I know you already mentioned you made sure the ST is level with the mat, but maybe double check. I can't remember if the ball placement changed when I went from CCE to FiberBuilt.
