  • Help for a long time lurker

Greetings simulator forum! I'm nearing the end of my build but i've hit a road-block. My current setup is:

    1) Skytrak launch monitor
    2) Skytrak game improvement package
    3) E6 Tru Golf Subscription
    4) Laptop for display/program

As my laptop can only run wifi to the house or to the skytrak, to practice i usually just connect my laptop to the skytrak via wifi. There are no issues here, everything performs normally. The problem is when i try to connect the laptop to wifi internet and then skytrak via usb. The skytrak will charge, but my laptop will not recognize the device. I can't see the skytrak on the control panel connections listing.

Some things i've tested per other similar threads in the forum:

    1) Tried a different cord: same result
    2) Tried messing with power settings of USB to prevent it from going dormant
    3) Uninstalled/reinstalled skytrak
    4) Reset the skytrak manually and attempt to connect via usb
    5) Follow the correct order of operations (laptop on, sky track plugged in, sky track turned on, etc.)
    6) Reinstalled microsoft c++ software

I'm stumped and bummed because i want to make sure everything is working prior to ordering my projector. Any advice?

    4) Reset the skytrak manually and attempt to connect via WIFI
Why are you attempting to connect via Wifi when you have the USB plugged in? You need to connect the skytrak in the set-up mode to USB and NOT WIFI.

Sorry, just mis-typed. Yes, after the reset i'm still attempting to setup via USB, not wifi. I'll edit the post.

If you wanted to be wireless still, you could buy another wireless adapter from Amazon and configure one for your internet and the other for your Skytrak. That is how we configured ours. Makes it a little easier without the cables.

That's a great idea. Could you link the adapter you used?

Cloudsreason I used the same setup that omega mentions above and had excellent results with Skytrak when compared to usb setup. I just bought a cheapo adapter from walmart. Good luck...

Wow, crazy that it ended up being the cable! Another option is to run Ethernet to your laptop and then use the onboard Wi-Fi to connect directly to the SkyTrak. Or...just connect in Network mode so you keep your internet connection and don't have to buy an adapter. Lots of options
