Did not want to hijack another thread but I was reading where people using ST indicated they were moving ST between driver and Irons, I watched a video where the user Teed off and placed the tee just back of the red laser dot, and when hitting irons he placed the ball on the laser. I have not set my unit up yet but do I need to move the ST each time between Tee and Irons or what am I misunderstanding. Thanks
Hitting Driver and Irons

It's easier to move the ball and leave the ST where it is. I put driver an inch or 2 behind dot. Flop shot in front of dot. Irons on it. I putted 8 inches behind dot.
behind being to the right for a right handed player

^^That sounds about right (although I've always just putted on the dot). 80% of players should be able to hit everything from the dot with the exception being white club heads. That's typically why you need to move the driver back is to keep that white club head out of the image.

Thank you that cleared that up, was thinking I was going to have to buy a slider to mount the ST too it...

I think sometimes depending on the speed of the putt the putter head would interfere with the capture. Putting from 8 inches away from the dot and using the dot as my spot to roll over worked flawlessly. I spot put outdoors so it was excellent practice too.

I was worried about needing to move my ST when I got the attached mat as I am limited to how much I can move my feet. However, I learned the ST has a bigger field of vision than people give it credit for. I have the ST with the dot just left of center (right handed) and that allows me to place the ball for my irons at my center line. This position of the ST also allows me to tee the ball for my driver over my left toe.

Question regarding the position of the ball..
So when I hit a driver do I put the tee where the dot is (so the ball would technically be 2 inch above the dot) ?
Because I seem to get some misreads and what I tried last night was - Move the ball (and tee) closer to me by an inch and it picked up the ball more often than not (when using driver).
thanks for any help - I'm new btw...
Cheers

Like Wizard said above, put the tee 1-2" back from the dot. I actually put it 1-2" diagonal to the dot and it reads my drives every time. in order words, it made sense to me to move it back away (diagonal) from the dot at the same angle as the camera. Good luckOriginally posted by Duggie View PostQuestion regarding the position of the ball..
