I was getting some ridiculously long distances consistently with my 8 iron yesterday. I was hitting them in in the 230/240 range (carrying 200). I noticed my backspin was very low (around 2000) so I cleaned my grooves, and the spin and distances came back to where I would have expected (carrying around 160). It seems like even with that low spin, those distances seem very high. Does that seem correct? I wouldn't think the low irons distance would be effected so much.
