  • Skytrak and network connectivity IP 10.0.0 issue

Hi guys. I just recently purchase the Skytrak with GIP software. I have had so many issues connecting the system with my home network. When it searches in network mode- my network never shows up I have to manually add it but then the buttons all get grayed out as I still can not find it. After being on tech support with SkyTrak for 1.5 hours the rep told me that if my IP with my ISP is 10.0.0 then it will have issues connecting as the Skytrak uses the same IP.

I contacted Rogers to see if I can change the IP but was not able to and I believe I need to keep the router for IPTV. I am using an Arris XB6 router through Rogers.
I want to know if any others have solved this issue of IP 10.0.0 issues and exactly what they did to solve this.

I have heard of bridging a new 3rd party router to the home router and then connecting the new router to the Skytrak. Let me know if anyone has done this successfully or have found a solution to the 10.0.0 IP issue?

    Thanks

I had the same issue with Xfinity and sent my skytrak back until i can figure out the issue. then i found the post below. Not sure if this will help you but its worth a try. look on this forum for WiFi issue solved, it may give you some answers. I will be buy sktrak again to see if it works for me if not im getting a Uneekor. Good luck

Ive recently built a new simulator and have been dealing with the Xfinity/Comcast IP issue. I finally did find a work around that will allow The SkyTrak to connect wirelessly and the comp to also keep internet connection. Xfinity offers the little home pods to create a mesh network around your house. Those pods have a ethernet connection plug that will allow you to hardwire the comp straight to it like you would a normal router, bypassing the IP address issue. The best part is you don't need your internet or router in the room as your Sim, just one of the little pods. The trick Ive found is you have to leave the ethernet cable unplugged until The SkyTrak connects to the computers wifi and you open The SkyTrak app. Then plug in the cable, close The SkyTrak app and open TGC. works every time. Ive spent over a month dealing with SkyTrak and Comcast being told there's no way to fix it but I didn't want to listen. Ive been reading on here for over a month looking for help so I thought I would post how I did it. I know hardwiring isn't new but I did not have the option of having my internet in the basement where my Sim was setup. Hope this helps anyone still having an issue.
