I just bought Fitness Golf and I am very happy with the program. Hat's off to all the Golf Sim companies for having free demos. I never would have bought Fitness Golf without the demo, looking at the logo screen it seemed like a 90's low res program. (Note to Fitness Golf I would consider a more representative intro screen) After I saw a Youtube video it looked more interesting, playing the demo clinched the deal. Owning all the courses without a subscription is a giant plus, although you do have to keep up your Skytrak plan ($99-199 a year). I have played a number of the courses on the list and the graphics are a pretty good representation of the courses within certain limitations. Very few complaints, it does gets confused sometimes and points you in the wrong direction, the text is hard to read in some screens. Putting and chipping is not bad, put the friction slider at the lowest level. I add about 10% boost to the shots, I find Skytrak about that amount low.

During our interval of stay at home, a little distraction is welcome. Put the boost at 100%, use lots of mulligans, play the back tees or even the front tees and try to shot in the 50s. It doesn't have to always be serious. In these stressful times a light hearted escape will be good for us.

Any helpful hints or how to get more from the programs would be appreciated. I haven't used the fitness portions of the program yet, any comments would again be appreciated.

Do the putting surfaces offer any kind of read or grids? The vids I saw on YouTube didn’t appear to have any.

I have fitness golf also, and yes you can enable green grid and you can see a colour coded grid (red uphill, green flat, blue downhill). The only thing missing are the moving dots to show the speed of the slope and direction.

i also think that for the price fitness golf is hard to beat, although I’m now looking to TGC 2019 for the graphics.

I wish Fitness Golf was available for GC2 owners. I had it when I had Skytrak and loved the software , I ended up getting a GC2 , sold my Skytrak and Fitness Golf but absolutely miss the Fitness Golf program.
It's amazing value and I would buy it again if available for Foresight Launch Monitors.

I’m having a hard time just demoing Fitness Golf. Last year I downloaded the demo and it wouldn’t let me start a round, this year it keeps saying my demo has expired. I even had Skytrak send me a new link, but it keeps saying expired.

Jeff Tilley you might be able to find a registry key for Fitness Golf and delete it, then reinstall, so it's not using the date of your earlier install??? Have you tried support at Fitness Golf?

You won't be able to download and use the Fitness Golf 21-day trial on the same computer that you originally downloaded and opened it on. You can try it on another computer however. All Windows users should be able to try the Fitness Golf demo but SkyTrak has a fairly complex license verification system. So, for all that want to try the Fitness Golf demo, follow these tips:

          1. Make sure you have a current SkyTrak Game Improvement or Play & Improve plan. SkyTrak requires this for all available simulator demos.

          2. Download the Fitness Golf Trial at: https://demos.skytrakgolf.com/simulation/demo

          3. Install the Fitness Golf Trial but do not open it yet.

          4. While connected to the internet, open the SkyTrak App and make sure you get the red laser dot on your hitting surface.

          5. Close the SkyTrak App because your SkyTrak cannot be connected to more than one software at a time.

          6. Open the Fitness Golf trial. If you still cannot connect, contact SkyTrak to have them manually set the permission to your SkyTrak to use Fitness Golf at: commercialservice@skytrakgolf.com

Thanks for the suggestion about changing the background image on the SkyTrak Fitness Golf landing page. SkyTrak recently changed this page and chose the background image themselves. It has now been updated with a more representative example of the Fitness Golf software: https://www.skytrakgolf.com/simulation/fitness-golf

Not sure what you mean. Just download and install the Fitness Golf trial or full version on your new computer.

Yes, my understanding is that the Fitness Golf license is tied to your individual SkyTrak unit not to the computer the Fitness Golf program was installed on. If you have any problem after installing Fitness Golf on the new computer, you can always contact SkyTrak and they can manually set the permission to use Fitness Golf back to your SkyTrak.

Does this mean I won’t be able to load the full Fitness Golf sim program on the same computer I have the bad demo on?

Of course you will be able to use the full paid version of Fitness Golf on any Windows computer you wish. The Fitness Golf trial/demo version is just like any other trial software. Once the trial period has expired, you need to purchase the full version to keep using it. The trial version places multiple entries into your computer registry and elsewhere that records when you started the trial. If it didn't do this, a user could simply uninstall the trial version and keep reinstalling it with no need to ever purchase it. In your case, to be safe, if you do purchase the full FG version, I would uninstall the trial version before installing the paid version.

Certainly not an expert, but it probably creates a different file and registry. Although my demo is still valid, the real version created all new files.

On another note, are there more than 2 holes on the driving range. Holes 1 and 2 are par 3's. I could just hit my driver over them, but it then wants you to hit second shots back to the pin.

I put the option on practice for the driving range and FG will track the shots, but still have how far I was from the hole.

I like the driving range option sometimes better than Skytrak. I find Skytrak about 5-7% low on distance, so I set FG boost to that and the distance seems more representative. It might be my imagination but Skytrak usually shows more hook than I usually see, FG appears to be more in line. I don't know if FG uses a different algorithm or uses Skytrak's. I have seen a lot of conflicting opinions on spin decay, but no definitive conclusions.

Enjoying the Youtube program, watched Sam Snead and Jack NIcklaus on Shell wonderful World of Golf at Pebble Beach from 1962. Pebble is basically the same back then but a lot less green and the greens were slow, it looks more like an old Scottish course. Playing Pebble today and Augusta tomorrow, all sim golf till my state opens up.

No, the driving range is only a two hole version. Keep in mind you can use the course creator to create a driving range more to your liking for Fitness Golf but it will still be treated as a regular hole. I would suggest using the SkyTrak App for your driving range practice and FG for your real rounds. Of course, for any shot in FG, you can always switch it to practice mode and keep hitting practice shots from the same position as if you were on a range.

My software engineer assures me that FG does take spin decay into account for all shots and I do not believe that the SkyTrak App does, so yes you should see closer to real life shot results for FG versus the SkyTrak App. You will need to check with the other SkyTrak simulation partners but I know some others do not take spin decay into account so your hooks and slices will be magnified compared to real life.
