Ok so I had to go ahead and purchase the TGC 2019 upgrade. I got the exact same email with download and activation instructions as I originally received. My question is do I have to follow these same instructions, which are asking me to go into the interface and send the machine id etc. etc. Or is there a way to just upgrade the game without going through the hassle of having them activate things on their end?

I believe you will need to go in and send the machine ID. I even had to do the same thing when I upgraded my computer. Customer service is very quick and responsive though.
