  • Sponge or plastic hollow golf balls on Skytrak?

Hi, I recently just bought a Skytrak and as I am waiting around for other parts to come for my simulator room, I was wondering if people have had much success in using plastic hollow golf balls or sponge ones.
If the Skytrak picks it up well etc. I'm sure it doesnt give very accurate data but I am fine with that.

Any other Skytrak tips in general for a new owner, would be welcome and appreciated.

    Cheers.

I've seen almost golf balls used, but distances were short

I have also used Almost Golf Balls as well. They read but are short. It doesn't really feel the same though.

I use AlmostGolf balls as I can't hit real balls inside my flat. They read OK. I play mainly with TGC 2019 where you can boost distances. I add 5% to wedges, 10% to irons and 15% to woods. They seem to most of the time be around about what I normally get with normal balls.

Thanks for the replies, I think ill just have to stick to 10 yard chip shots in the garden until my simulator is built

I feel your pain . Are you building a shed in your garden ? If I have 1 tip for a shed room stick to the size guide at least 16 ft sq and 10 foot high don’t short change on this ideally you need 17 foot length so projector displays on the screen fully and 5 meters wide at rear so you can hit in the middle of the screen . Seen so many builds and they have to hit way over to the right .

Yea a shed in the garden. The dimensions are 4 metres wide, 3.5m high and 7m long. I dont mind hitting to the side a little as long as I can swing a golf club!
