  • Best swing analyzer to pair with Skytrak simulator setup

I've done quite a few searches on this topic, but I haven't seen any recent, updated posts lately. I'm designing my sim in stages and will start with a Fiberbuilt mat, Pro Return net and a Skytrak launch monitor. I would like to add a swing analyzer for two reasons. 1. Skytrak doesn't provide swing/club metrics. 2. Skytrak launch monitors are on backorder and I'd like to start hitting into my setup sooner than later.

After reading a number of posts here and reviews online about swing analyzers, I was pretty close to pulling the trigger on a Rapsody R-motion swing analyzer, but they were always out of stock on their site when I tried to make the purchase. I emailed Rapsody and found out they're discontinuing the swing analyzer and focusing solely on their launch monitor. If anyone is interested in their launch monitor Rapsody provided me with a code for $150 off, I'm happy to share the code just DM me.

The swing metrics I'm most interested in are swing speed, swing path, face angle, and tempo. The swing analyzer integrating with Skytrak is a nice-to-have, not a need-to-have. For anyone with experience using a great swing analyzer I can add to my skytrak system, it would be great to hear the brands you think I should research and the benefits/metrics that make your choices resonate with you.

    I appreciate your responses.

In my opinion there isn't a viable option to get club data with the SkyTrak. I wouldn't trust the numbers on any of them, and if you don't care about the numbers then you might as well just use the hidden SkyTrak data generated by it's internal algorithm (which is guesswork).

If this is just something for you to gimmick your way into hitting balls before you get a SkyTrak, then just get one of the cheap things that attach to the club shaft. SkyPro is the one made by the same people (you'd think that means it would integrate with SkyTrak, lol nope) but there are plenty of newer ones that are probably "better".

Celeras, thanks for the reply. I ended up purchasing a ‘Blast-Motion Swing Analyzer’ they’re offering $60 off right now on their site. Not sure if they’re getting ready to release a new product and need to get rid of their old version or if they just have too much inventory. I also went on the iOS App Store and noticed they’d made an update to their app within the last couple months, which is a great sign since every other swing analyzer app I checked on the App Store hadn’t been updated in the last 1-3 years.

Hopefully, this will get me by until my Skytrak is delivered.

I was under the impression that the R-Motion integrates with Skytrak.
Or does this only work in the original TGC (not TGC 2019 or E6... or even Skytrak range)?

At one time, there was a version of TGC that worked with Rmotion and Skytrak. It was not available on TGC2019 or skytrak range.

Subscribing, as I'm very interested in this as well. The calculated swing metrics SkyTrak provides are OK, but since they are calculated and not measured, they are often educated guesses, at best (to state the obvious).

As a brand new golfer, I'm mostly interested in In-to-out angle and open/closed face angle. Honestly, I'm still working on consistently striking the ball on the face of the club. I know AoA would be the hardest thing to pick up from one of those wrist or club trackers. Is there anything on the market that can be considered for those things?
