Indoor sim Golf v Outdoor real Golf

With auto putts on the green turned on, how many shots on avg would you say the sim is easier than real Golf? Not an easy question to answer I know but would love to hear opinions on this. In my experience thus far, I make sim Golf around 6 shots easier but there are variables, for example, before I play a sim round, I'll have half hour in the practise range and tend to get most of the bad shots out of the way but on the course, I just turn up and hit it.

I'm probably 8 shots better in sim but that is with putting and 6ft gimmies on. I don't play auto putts on green so I'm not sure what I would shoot with those settings.

You obviously have not tried playing WGT and then compare it to your outside game! We just started this months matches with No Gimmie Putts.. you have to take the first putt no matter what then you can only get a gimmie put inside of 2 feet ... HAHAHA

I had WGT back in my skytrak days. Back then you couldn't miss short sided with the skytrak cause you couldn't hit short chips on it. I spent most my time playing something where you tried to hit closest to the pin and it tallied the total distance.

Wizard of Coz you can hit short chips and medium flop (limited by SkyTrak 55* launch) but even the well executed shots will result in the ball rolling to the other side of the green. I found your better off missing by 30 yards than being just on the fringe and inside 10 yards away. Or as you said dont miss short side

for me, it depends a little bit on the course. When I play the local courses that I have designed, I tend to play about 10 strokes better on the sim than IRL. I chalk that up to 6 ft gimmes, straight putting turned on, perfect lie, variable playing conditions (such as wind, moisture, etc.) and, ultimately, a lot less pressure playing on the sim than playing with others IRL.

that being said, recently, I have been turning gimmes off (except when playing in Society tournaments) in order to force myself to make all putts.
