    Tgc 2019 gameplay questions

I just dropped the 900 for tgc 2019... Starting to think it was a mistake... Doesn't seem very user friendly and instructions are poor... Here's my questions.

    - can I use the software without my simulator? Meaning can I use the mouse to just play courses to get the feel for them? Simulator setup is limited and can't play late at night. Would be nice to play without swinging to plan shots beforehand
    - what is the penalty for lies... (Sand, rough, deep rough) and is there a way to show on the screen the % penalty for lies if there is one

    - first bounce and chip shots have terrible spin compared to e6. If I change the shot type from full to pitch, will the software adapt? I would think it would just use the ball data from my strike.

    - played pebble as my first course, one of the tee shots went down to the beach area and had to hit it up a 40' cliff, it wasn't possible to get the ball up and I couldn't figure out how to drop... Reset my computer and started the round over

    - the consoles to start the program have a skytrak console and a tgc console,... In there, there's a wordpad sheet with launch angle and power adjustments, does anybody use this for skytrak?

    - skytrak specific, my unit struggles with launch angle when I'm swinging 5 iron and bigger. My driver and 3-wood are 280-320 on the course, hybrid 240-250, 4 iron 220+. Skytrak driver averages 250 with my best barely touching 300. It seems like a launch angle issue at higher ball speeds. Anybody else with similar experiences? Can tgc fix this?

    - local courses and augusta... Can't find a nice library of courses and doesn't seem to have a tgc set of courses, just user created. Has tgc made legit pga courses? Or just user created?

Just struggling in general, seriously not user friendly.

1.) You can purchase the Steam version (the PC version) of the game to play with your mouse or a controller. I think it's normally around $50 but they do have occasional sales. I was able to buy it for $8.

2.) Lie penalty is 7% for light rough and 14% for heavy rough and fairway bunkers. Greenside bunkers is 40%.

3.) Shot type makes no difference in the sim version.

4.) The game developers created about 35 courses. I believe they are all fictional. The best courses are the user created ones using LIDAR. Just do a search for highest rated courses. Plenty of 4 and 5 star options.

5.) I'm not sure what you mean about skytrak console or tgc console. I think you might be talking about the settings file? If so, use this to turn on the straight putt patch. It makes a world of difference with putting. Some people use the boost option. Tournament play is limited to 5%.

6.) If you're having issues with chipping, turn green firmness to soft or very soft and greens speeds to moderate. A lot of new players jack things up to firm and fast because they think that will be fun but it's actually not at all. Most tournaments are played on soft for firmness and moderate for speed. You just have to get a feel for how far you need to carry the ball to allow for run out according to the slope. Don't expect to hit hard, low spinners that stop on a dime. Play for roll out.

7.) There is a way to take an unplayable lie. I forgot what it is but maybe someone else can remember.

8.) For the distance question, post some photos of the ball data (ball speed, launch, spin).

7% fairway bunkers, 40% bunkers inside 40 yards

Ahh ... so that's why I'm always long on fairway bunker shots lol. Is the 40 yard rule for greenside bunker penalties measured as 40 yards from the flag or 40 yards from the green?

Hoping it's the flag since that is all I can go on.
