Original FMJ

I know there has been a lot of threads about misreads and the Original FMJ, but wondering if anyone had modified the original FMJ and had better results? In particular, was thinking about using a Dremel and making the photo holes larger. Or even cutting them off like the Skytrak FMJ appears to have done?

Reason I ask is because my Skytrak is not picking up long irons/woods very well (5 iron - 3 wood). About 50/50 on not getting a read. Red dot just sits there and stares at me, smh.

There was no difference for me, I had a prototype version and the final, one I cut and one I didn’t. Did not make a difference. He changed the layout of the three leveling holes between those two versions

That is an alarming number of no reads. I only get a couple no reads during an entire driving range practice session which is normally 75 to 100 shots. Have you tried it without the case? If you still get them then that rules out the case being the issue. Also, height is critical, the bottom of the Skytrak has to be level with your hitting surface. Also, one of the really big things for me when I first got my Skytrak was the color white, anything white creates issues. I had a pair of tennis shoes that had white soles, I could not wear them when playing.

I have taken it out of the case and improved the misreads dramatically! The weird thing is I have had the original FMJ for sometime now and this year it appears to have gotten worse. One thing I noticed is if I tee the ball up, woods work almost 100% of the time. That why I was thinking I need to Dremel the inside photo slots.

I will have to check out your courses! Have played the Boyne Courses numerous times, and really enjoyed the resort.
