SkyTrak IPad Delay Question

I have a net setup in my garage. iPad (6th gen) connected to TV via lightning connection.

I close all apps running in the background, have turned off background refresh on most of the apps. Reboot iPad and then start using with the E6 Connect software.

Golf shot is hit, laser turns off, there is an 8 - 10 second delay for IPad to display.

Most of the comments on this forum indicate a 2-3 second delay for processing.

Any suggestions?

8-10 seems pretty excessive. Mines in the 2-3 range using skytrak driving range or wgt.

Although I am on the e6 free trial, and there have been maybe a handful of times in which it’s been longer. But it’s not a regular occurrence. maybe it’s an E6 thing? How is it just using skytrak driving range?

Skytrak says WGT tested with the iPad models:

• iPad Air
• iPad Air 2
• iPad Mini 2 (with Retina Display)
• iPad Mini 3
• iPad Mini 4
• iPad Pro

I have no experience with iOS devices beyond iPhone 3GS but it's 6th gen iPad equivalent/superior to any of those? If not, your problem is likely that it's taking those extra seconds to parse the data because the hardware can't handle the calculation and rendering at the same time.

If you use a slower PC to run TGC it does the same thing.

What is your delay if you are just using the SkyTrak app? And I assume you are in network mode?

Running network mode, have a Plume Wi-Fi extender in garage, 15 feet away from skytrak unit.

Even in the SkyTrak app? That doesn't sound right at all. Can you direct mode or USB mode just for troubleshooting purposes?

When I first got my sky trak I was running off Ipad pro, I didn't have a computer fast enough so I figured what the hell, bought a used one and it worked, to say the least! I was having way more than 3 seconds, occasionally 5 or 6, so I bit the bullet, I purchase a Dell Alienware, WOW to say the least! I was projection onto a tv with the Ipad with a thunderbolt, now to the tv with the computer! I hit the shot and by the time I follow through and turn around the ball is gone! you can hear the ball it when your still standing! I was sold! wish I had just bought the computer right away and not wasted 400 on the Ipad that I am now not doing a thing with!

I shopped Dell outlet, and waited until I found something that was good enough to run TGC 2019 minimum specs, had to wait a few weeks but I ended up with a unit for under 800. If you don't want to wait there is always units that way over qualified but expect to pay 1000 or more but you will have it in a few days.

I've got an iPad Air 4th Gen and it's fairly quick, but this is Skytrak app and using direct connect. 2-3 seconds at most. Most likely ipad just can't handle the software from the looks of it.

I’ve got an iPad 2 and it takes 2-3 seconds per shot just like my laptop.

Problem solved, thanks for input.

Ran the Skytrak software and minimal delay. Delay only when using E6.

Upgraded to iPad Air 4, delay down to 2-3 seconds, infinitely more enjoyable!
