  • Mounting sky track on stance Matt advice?

I’m building a custom stance map with foam Gym interlocking mats and then tossing and turf on top and installing a divotaction insert.

My question is am I better off leaving my sky track on the hitting mat maybe Velcro it down so it doesn’t move or do I cut out a hole and drop the sky track in that slot this way it would be directly on the floor vs the stance mat

what are you guys think thanks

I think you want the Skytrak off of you hitting matt. The vibration can affect the reads.

You should be fine with it on the mat really. Especially if you are hitting off of an insert. I'd try it before cutting in to your mat. I play with the skytrak on the mat, no problems. I think it is only a problem if your mat is shifting/sliding while hitting.

I agree, if you are dropping in an insert, i would try it just sitting on the mat. if it works it saves you from more work.

Yes that was my plan to see how it works before I start to cut
            thanks guys!

To keep a mat from sliding rug lining works really well like the rug holders my mat hasn’t moved at all

Make sure your hitting surface is the same height or fractionally higher than the stance mat. I’m pretty sure your Skytrak will need to be at the same height as your hitting surface to reduce misreads.

Yes I’m going to make sure the hitting surface is the same as my turf

Did your Skytrak come with a case? I have mine in a case so it actually sits mat high in it. If you don't I would suggest you get one, every once in a while a ball will roll off the net and bounce off it.

                    Mine has the case

I’m guessing the case will lift it a mm or 2? So if I put it right on the stance Mat it won’t be flush with the unit just the case?
