Sim program choices

Fitness golf is great in my opinion. OK it's not got the bells n whistles of E6 or TGC but hey it's waaaaay cheaper, a one-time purchase, doesn't need a turbo nutter PC to run it and has some real fun courses (Dacotah Ridge, Culebrita, Pebble, Laurel, Prince, Plainfield, Wilderness etc. etc.). It's kept me sane during multiple lockdowns and in my view it's just a great deal.

Yep, been watching his videos quite a bit lately. I tried the E6 demo, didn't like the ball physics around the green. Everything was too fast. I tried to get the Fitness Golf demo to load a gazillion times, no go. I have never tried TGC, but most everyone complains about the first bounce, and it appears the ball physics around the green wouldn't be as realistic as Creative Golf. Plus, at my age I'll never play 170,000 courses. Sure, graphics do look better on both E6 and TGC, but ball physics around the green are much more important to me at this point.

The review he posted a week ago is great, that sim is superb and currently the best bang for the buck out of any sim out there with pretty realistic ball, and environmental physics. My choice if I could only have one sim. I currently enjoy that one, TGC2019 and practice with the View or Refine range, but don’t like the gameplay on Refine and the voice is the most annoying.

If money is not an issue then I would have that one, TGC2019, and E6 to participate in as many societies as possible throughout the week

How do you putt using Fitness Golf? It appears there are no lines or grids to guide you.

There's a green grid with perfectly OK lines and gradients. But I don't putt. I have it on auto putt. Putting in a golf cave? I don't do it.

Putting is part of my practice routine, so it’s a must.

You can putt, and you can set a gimme put from 1ft to 6ft. As mentioned above, you do get a green grid (there is a toggle on and off button at bottom of the screen), which gives different colours (red to green), to determine the slope. Depending on my time on the SIM, sometimes I putt, sometimes it is just about the hitting game :-)

Update-went with the Creative Golf 3D sim after watching too many good players on YouTube set their gimmes to 10’ on other sims. So far, so good. I realize I won’t get the greatest graphics or play the greatest courses in the world, but I still get to play when it’s too crappy outside. Besides, this sim is better than most realize. I’ll pony up and buy the course library soon. Thanks for all your input!

I’ve got TGC and Creative Golf. I actually don’t play Creative Golf that much other than playing some of the games with our kids. I’ve heard that the ball physics (particularly interaction on the green) are better so I’ll need to play some and provide thoughts.

Though I think overall my choice if I were to pick one would be TGC simply because of the number of courses available.

Update on mine. I’ve played more of Creative Golf and am really enjoying it. The rough and sand penalties seem a little more realistic and I think the ball/green interaction is very good. I still really enjoy TGC19 as well but Creative Golf is becoming my choice for playing with friends.

I’ve only played a few rounds so far, but I’m liking what I paid for. I’ve made a few adjustments on the game to slow things down around the green, took the Skytrak out of the case, and putts are much straighter. Now if my back would loosen up.....
