Never thought of that, maybe get something like a stimpmeter to roll the ball down the line where the laser dots are and see if it's straight in the software on a flat green. Then just adjust until it shows straight.

We kinda get away with slight misalignment on full shots, its only becomes really noticeable when you putt.

That's a good idea. I was getting some wonky readings last time I was able to use my skytrak (I have an injury that's preventing me from doing so right now). I'm going to clearly mark the laser dots, give a few putts to those exact lines (paying close attention to make sure I hit my marks) and adjust as necessary.

I might actually get a stimpmeter once I complete my setup. I still need to get flooring in around my hitting mat. I find putting, particularly speed, very difficult when the ball is rolling off my mat. I'd like to at least be able to accurately gauge up to about 7 feet, and start to dial in a bit of feel beyond that.

Guys,
I was relying on the level drop that came with the skytrak protection and did not notice any issue. However, today I tried to use the app feature of leveling and there is big miss matching between the two leveling option as shown in the attached picture.
I appreciate your feedback to understand was is wrong.

I've got the same setup and noticed the same thing. To get the new leveling feature to 0/0 the case ends up tilting quite a bit to one side.

Yeah I've got the same issue. Flat using my own bubble level = 0 degrees roll but -2 degrees tilt. So maybe SkyTrak_Seth can chime in on which is the accurate one to trust - external bubble level or internal leveler on app?

We are just pulling the internal leveling information from the unit. I will certainly look into this. My hunch is that it would be better to go of what the unit 'thinks' it is vs what it actually is. However, that's pure speculation on my part.

I don't have the case, but i put one of the cheap levels on top of the unit, one that has two bubbles, front to back and side to side and it matches to the software. I wonder if the plastic bezel is skewed when it's put on case. If you've got another level, you may want to try and see what you find without the case.

Going back to a topic from the beginning of this thread - was there any resolution on the fact that some users need to aim there skytrak to the right of target in order to get the alignment mode lasers and ball flight to be straight? I fall into that category of users. When I have my skytrak perfectly leveled I have to have the base of my skytrak aimed a few degrees right of target in order for the alignment mode lasers to point at the target. I also find from thousands of shots that it has to be alighted this way for the ball to start on center when hit on center. This is regardless of chips, pitches, iron shots, drives etc. If I have my skytrak parallel to target line the ball will start right of target on the screen when actually hit straight. This isn't a huge deal and I've come to get used to it but it is slightly annoying seeing the skytrak askew. I've had friends over who comment on why the skytrak has to be turned just a bit. It isn't natural to have something in your line of sight be slightly off line... Anyways, just wanted to see if there was ever any resolution or way you could adjust the center line. I have to guess it's just a slight manufacturing defect.

Mine is the same - case with ST in it slightly angled to the right to have the laser alignment dots appear straight. I assume it's the alignment of the dots which is critical, and not the case, but it would be helpful if the two corresponded so as to remove any doubt about whether the device it set up correctly for the most accurate readings.

After reading this thread I went and started checking my ST alignment. I find that I have to put the front of the device slightly to the left to get the 2 alignment dots to be lined up perfectly when on a level surface. I do find that the bubble level is pretty darn accurate on mine. I would have to assume that when they are installing the laser sites there maybe slight differences in how they are secured to the case.

I just received the Skytrak a few days ago, and alignment is where I still have the most uncertainty. If the Skytrak in the protective box is aligned straight to a point, the front alignment laser is slightly closer to me than the back one. And I keep debating whether it feels more accurate to align the 2 laser points, or to align the box. Like Sledge0001, I feel like the laser dots aren't quite perfect. Does anyone have a procedure to recommend (besides buying another laser device) to ensure that the alignment of the actual ball into the net is right on the line that the Skytrak is saying it's on? I think drawing a line forward and then up vertically into the net or screen, defining that as "center" and then moving the skytrak so that a ball following and hitting that line registering as Skytrak center, would be optimal. Has anyone done something like that?

I haven't used another laser...but I've used alignment sticks at the range and at home into the net. The two laser alignment points are definitely what the target line is matched to.....rather than the body of the unit.

N54TT - I agree with this. I only realized the ST alignment dots a couple of weeks after I had been using the ST. My ST box needs to be open to the target line. Once I aligned my ST box using the dots, no more severe right tendency in TGC putting.

Has there been any update as to which level should be used when aligning and leveling the Skytrak: the internal level device on the Skytrak app or the bubble level on the Skytrak?

I've adjusted the unit so that the application read 0* roll and 0* tilt but it looks incredibly tilted forward and definitely not level in the real world. One really important question I'd love to ask is; ST says it has an auto feature that corrects up to 5* of inaccurate leveling, if the ST internal leveler is not working properly, is my units accuracy getting messed up from the unit thinking it needs to "fix" itself? This leveling issue has me perplexed... I've verified the unit being level with at least 7 different torpedo levels so I know it is not the tools I'm using. Help please where as this is a brand new device

I just got a SkyTrak and I have the same issue. On a level surface tilt is -5*. Skytrak support (chat and phone) was not helpful at all and had me check the alignment and then told me to just lean the unit forward until tilt was 0*. Not what you are looking for in a $2k product that promotes its accuracy. I love using the SkyTrak but am concerned by the apparant poor quality control and lack of support.

Thank you for posting that so I know its not just me. Sounds like I should give ST a call to ask there support about the issue. Its definitely been apparent since day 1 when I opened the box and connected to the unit.

**UPDATE 2** I just received my new SkyTrak (which was shipped overnight) and unfortunately the new unit shows -7* tilt on a level surface. This is actually worse than my original unit. I've contacted SkyTrak to figure out next steps - wondering if there is a bad batch, software issue, etc.

**UPDATE 3** I received a 3rd unit which shows an accurate tilt and roll measurement. I wasn't given any explanation on why my first two units were off, my guess is that they have a hardware issue on some units in a certain batch. If you are having a similar problem, I would contact SkyGolf.
