Hi All, just a couple quick pictures/details regarding my setup and ST in general. About a year ago I purchased a P3Proswing (used) off of craigslist. Only used it 5 times max, I didnt enjoy the fact I needed a "dedicated" PC to have it run, also not having a permanent setup in my garage it was a hassle to run the wires etc. It took a awhile to boot my PC, start the app etc. So I sold it shortly after buying it. In January I got my skytrak and have never looked back - the device is awesome. I walk in, hook up my monitor, put down the device and swing away. Within 45 seconds max I am up and running.
The setup is basic, but works pretty well.
A couple of things I like:
Quick and easy to get setup
No need for a PC
Quite realistic ball flight compared to "how I think I hit it".
A couple things I don't like:
I still like to hit balls with my swingbyte and sometimes I use both (but you need 2 iPad's to view the data), would be great if Skytrak could partner with someone to pull some key swing data in. (not necessarily Swingbyte).
I am not sold on WGT - I think its has pretty crappy graphics, especially compared to TGC.
I wish that release/feature/updates dates were realistically timed or even had some form of cadence (as an app dev I know this can be hard).
Syncing is intermittent, and my iPad has *always* showed "Waiting to Sync" even though there is some data on Skygolf 360 (In regular/AP Mode).
Having to type in my password at login when the app is restarted, even though "remember me" is selected.
The history screen is quirky and either takes too long to load and is difficult to navigate.
A couple things I wish for:
Better access to the raw data (so we can use other apps like FS Trajectory Optimizer), a open API maybe?
Smash factor needs to be added
A clear answer on what I got for the extra $100 "skills" package. A box of Bridgestone e6 balls?
WGT integration or e6cloud integration and when?
Overall, as you can tell, I like the device and am happy with my investment. But here is a realistic view point: I think ST has the challenge of being a market newcomer/leader. I believe there will be other devices coming soon, but ST needs to be innovating now, or it will be too late. I really hope that ST continues to succeed and does well long term. They deserve to!
