  • SkyTrak Data Sync

    Hi all,

    I'm working on the next app update which is going to fix all of the sync, database, sorting, and display issues. It's been hard to pinpoint because some of you are syncing fine, some are inconsistent, and some are not able to sync at all. To help me speed things along, can you please report back here and let me know:

    1) Syncing fine/inconsistent/not at all

    2) Are you using direct mode and syncing later or network mode and syncing as you go?

    3) Is your SkyGolf360 (and SkyTrak app) login name your email address, or is it a custom username?

    4) Did you have a SkyGolf360 (clubsg) account before you bought SkyTrak?

    No prior sessions synced. But now uploading new session data to skygolf360. I have only been using ST in network mode. I will have to try a direct mode session and see what happens.

      Thanks everyone! We've actually identified the problem and the new update is waiting for Apple to approve!

        Will the new update fix the altitude issue? Right now I am seeing no difference for 4500 feet and 500

          I'm not sure because it was strictly focused on database/sync stuff. Let me follow up.

            Dear All,
            Just FYI, my unit has been all the time "waiting for sync" at the top when connected on network mode. Surprisingly, maybe by mistake, last night I got "DATA SYNCED", and this is what I was doing:
            After connected in network mode (data not synced), I hit the bottom "register my device" just for playing with the app. Then I received a message saying something like the username used is not available to register the device. Sorry, I don't remember exactly the message received. So, I logged out and logged in again but this time using the registered email address instead of username...and immediately I got "DATA SYNCED". I checked today my account in skygolf360 and I confirmed that my last night data was synced.

              Well, well, well...coincidentally v1.8.6 was approved and available in the App Store yesterday evening. You more than likely automatically updated

                Have only just got my SkyTrak here in the UK.

                How long does it take to sync your data. I have one session but my app only says at the top 'waiting to sync' in green then 'data not synced' in red. It keeps showing both these messages alternatively.

                  Hi, K3ith, my data sync from my Skytrak in the UK is almost instantaneous - it looks to me like the data syncs with every shot, although I've never actually tested to see whether Skygolf is updated in real-time. it's pretty much permanently green 'Data Synched' at the top of the screen.

                  Yesterday evening, however, for the first time, I had an issue synching during the practice session and exited the app and restarted, the app prompted me to log back in and then the data synched again, so, there may possibly have been something happening at the time with the Skygolf system?

                  I'd give it a few days and see whether it continues. It's never been an issue for me.

                    If you are in direct mode (connected to the skytrak unit), it will try to sync (waiting to sync) but not be able to because it has no internet connection - so then it displays 'data not synced'. The only way to sync is to either be in network mode (sync as you go) or connect to the internet and just open the app (sync a previous direct mode session(s) after the fact)

                      So far I have only used it in direct mode. But when I get home and connect to my network and internet it still shows 'waiting to sync' and 'data not synced' and my session has not been uploaded to SkyGolf.

                        Mine was still flaky after the update, but I uninstalled and re-installed and it synced instantly. Shots seem to be displaying much quicker and more reliably also.

                          Still no joy.

                          Have uninstalled and then re-installed and it synced instantly (but the previous session date was deleted with the uninstall).

                          Had another session in direct mode and have tried at least six times to sync without any success. I was wondering if it may have something to do with the fact I switch my iPad Mini 3 off between sessions to save battery power.

                          If not, any body got any other ideas?

                            My unit is now always showing "waiting to sync" and "data not synced". However, i just did a test with this and went into skygolf and the shots I just took are showing up there. Why is this? Is this a problem with my unit. I never had this issue until the recent update.

                              Are you hitting in direct mode? If so, then it's normal to say 'Data not Synced'. If it's in 360, then you've connected to the internet with the app open at some point

                              Keith, switching it off shouldn't make a difference. Can you confirm that you are logged into the app while you are doing your direct mode sessions?

                                Yes I can confirm that I'm hitting in direct mode and that I am logged into the app. whilst doing direct mode session.
