  • SkyTrak Data Sync

    Hi all,

    I'm working on the next app update which is going to fix all of the sync, database, sorting, and display issues. It's been hard to pinpoint because some of you are syncing fine, some are inconsistent, and some are not able to sync at all. To help me speed things along, can you please report back here and let me know:

    1) Syncing fine/inconsistent/not at all

    2) Are you using direct mode and syncing later or network mode and syncing as you go?

    3) Is your SkyGolf360 (and SkyTrak app) login name your email address, or is it a custom username?

    4) Did you have a SkyGolf360 (clubsg) account before you bought SkyTrak?

      SkyTrak/Seth, any thoughts on this observation? Really like to get to the bottom of why my SkyTrak cannot (and has never been able to) sync. Thanks.

        I should chirp in to clarify that's not what's happening for me; my most recent Direct Mode session is not synched and seemingly won't, but all my subsequent Network Mode sessions have successfully synched.

          Aside from Seth, has anyone had any luck with Skygolf support? It's been almost a month for me without a call back. When you spend $2000.00 on something, you would think the company that just launched a new product might want to include a little customer service. $99.00 annual fee to watch "waiting to sync" seem excessive.

            Support is less than stellar. I'm having some laser point issues and am having a very difficult time getting it resolved. Perhaps I'll get it resolved prior to warranty expiration?

              I like the product and all - but agree the support has a lot to improve - multiple times SkyGolf has told me they will have someone call me back but I have never received one single callback so I gave up and resorted to this forum.

              And it seems like SkyTrak has fleeced all loyal SkyTrak customers who had purchased the $99 Game Improvement Package:
              - so far only thing I got for that $99 was the dozen Bridgestone E6 balls that costs ~$20;
              - still have not seen a single issue of the Golf Magazine (but that's worth a mere $10);
              - syncing has never worked for me since day 1 thus I have never used my SkyGolf 360 Premium account (1-year subscription which has only 10 months left) because I have nothing synced to it anyways;
              - and the biggest rip-off of them all is that they've now changed this $99 fee from one-time fee to an annual fee (before purchasing I have called and chatted with representatives at SkyGolf multiple times, and each time they have assured me that this $99 fee is a one-time fee only so therefore I pulled the trigger on the Game Improvement Package - figuring if it doesn't work properly now will work later at some stage and might be useful somewhere down the line - but now even this useless $99 feature to me has only 10 months left and I have been unable to use its sync feature at all).

              Regarding the last item though, I am sure if a company sells something as a one-time fee and later amends it to annual fee, they need to grandfather as one-time fee the Game Improvement Packages purchased by original customers who have purchased feature as one-time fee - or else I'm pretty sure it will constitute consumer fraud. For example I have totally free checking accounts that charge no fees - but when the bank later amends account to be no longer zero fees, customers opening new accounts get charged fees but old totally free checking accounts opened prior to change gets grandfathered as no-fee accounts forever. I believe there is a separate thread on this forum that discusses the $99 one-time vs annual fee issue.

                That's exactly how I feel. I'm sure there are others out there. It is a good product, but it falls way short of the advertised claims. With the customer support I have received, I'm a little scared that it may develop other issues like MnDougie and not be able to get them resolved. Callaway had the issues with their UPRO gps and they finally just scrapped it. The $99.00 fee has to be addressed, for those that have not been able to use it. I'll try to find that thread.

                It was right there under the title Game Improvement Package. I wish I would of read it prior to purchasing.

              Mazenblue, I printed out a copy from early May just in case (see attached). As you can see, it used to not specify it's an annual fee (and was told many times it's only one-time fee). Now if you look at the site, it states 'annual yearly fee' now (https://shop.skygolf.com/p-1679-skyt...t-package.aspx).

                  I understand your frustration but these sync issues will get resolved. There are still a lot of positives with the unit. Price, portability, accuracy, ease of use, multiple sim options. In 6 months time this will all be distant memories. It will be snowing and you'll be making great use of it. I guess I'm trying to say don't make a hasty decision hang in there! And save yourself a bundle of $$$.

                    Mazenblue, I totally agree with Mr. Hogan (and you're talking to a guy who has NEVER been able to get his unit to sync EVER). I am frustrated with the syncing - but hoping they would fix well before the newly imposed 1-year expiration of the Game Improvement Package or else would be totally unfair). My 2 cents - hang in there! At least for a little while longer.

                      Like I said in another thread...there are a lot of new features that will be rolling out over the next 1-2 months. Syncing is very intertwined with several of these efforts and is an integral piece of the puzzle...so if you can hang in there, we will get to the bottom of it soon. I do understand that it's extremely frustrating though, and I apologize for the inconvenience it's causing some of you.

                        Thank you for the reply SkyTrak, Ok I will hang in there. An honest response is very much appreciated. I do think it is a good product, my frustration as well as some of the other buyers has been Customer Service, we have had previous discussions about that. I really believe that Customer Service is an easier fix than the technical issues. Looking forward to syncing as well as the new features. Thanks again.

                          Mazen, I hear you. The fact is that it is a good product. The customer service and advice from this forum members should partially offset any lack of service from the company. Hang in there. I am testing TGC and E6 for Skytrak. It's great! It's almost ready but when Skygolf will actually release it is a question. The company is big so there are multiple decision makers approvals needed before its released. I will say this though, Skytrak users will be happy with TGC.

                            Bubba yes this forum is excellent. The people here are great. Without Seth I would of sent mine back 3 weeks ago when Skytrak said we will call you back, and still have not heard from them. The decision makers have to listen to their customers, and provide quality service. I'm keeping mine, I have packed it up twice, but I see its potential. If Skytrak would spend 30 minutes training their Customer Service Reps they could retain more customers. There is a lot of people on this forum and other forums (even SkyTrak's own forum) that have expressed extreme dissatisfaction with SkyTrak's CS. I have talked with some of the key people at SkyTrak and they are aware of the problem and are working on the CS issues. This is a Data Sync thread. Skytrak is charging an annual subscription to sync to 360 Golf. What do you think they are going to do for the customers that pay for it and it does not work?

                              That's a good question. I don't know. I think they should extend the subscription for those that have data sync issues. I can tell you that the Skytrak users will be happy with TGC sim software!
