What kind of marking on ball?

The instructions say to put the logo of the ball or marking towards the camera. I wonder what the ideal marking would be? For example, would a vertical line facing the camera be better than a horizontal line? Perhaps a cross?

I'm guessing some markings will assist in readings more than others. Does anyone have any idea what marking will be ideal?

Really it shouldn't matter. The software just needs something to 'grab onto' in the event that it can't track the dimples. The only issue I've ever witnessed in the past is a vertical line getting spun out of the picture with so much side spin. In that scenario, worrying about what type of line to draw or even hitting on a launch monitor in general needs to take a back seat to finding a good golf teacher
