I have an outside setup. Was wondering how much lighting is needed to get accurate results at night? I think I read you don't hardly need any light if any? Not sure if that is correct or not? It is about to get hot here in Texas.....was going to try to get some lighting for some night sessions. Any thoughts or experience would be great!

I have been using it in a pretty dark garage and it is just as accurate as a range session in the middle of the day. Im not 100% certain on this but I'm assuming that if you have enough light to see the ball and swing then the ST should have enough light to take adequate images. You shouldn't have any issues. Hope this helps -
The ST was struggling in my garage last night lots of unread shots, I suspected light so I got a spotlight to shine more light at the hitting area and it made a big improvement. So I think low light could be a problem. More experienced users may have more insight tho.Comment

Because the ball dynamics is approximated by a photometric system, it is logical to assume light could play a crucial role, unless the system is driven by infra red .Comment

I regularly use the ST in a dark indoor room. And by dark I mean I have the lights off and there is a small glow coming from the next room so that I can just see the ball. It's a swing trust drill thing I do. When I do this, ST picks up shots just as well as if lights are on. Only time I see missed shots is if I have balls in bad shape. When they get a little ragged I just draw a black line on them to extend the hitting life before they become shag bag fodder.Comment

SkyTrak should work great in the dark. Our sim room is very dark so the projector screen pops. The only lighting issue you will run into is when the sun is pointing directly into the lens on the unit. Night time should be perfect.Comment
