    Garmin R10 updates

    HI everyone

If R10 works with RCT balls then surely it will work with metallic dots?

And if the R10 works with metallic dots and reads short chips accurately then surely its a cheaper version of the Mevo + because it tracks the ball.

Future Garmin updates will probably sort out the push draw issue like mevo + had and provide users with info like low point etc which you get in the Mevo + pro package.

I can't see why the putting experience would be different to mevo+ either.

    Am I missing something?

Why would you buy a mevo + today unless you want the pro package right now?

I'd like to know your views, thanks in advance.

I think you answered your own question.

The addition of features to the R10 is speculative without teasers or press releases from Garmin confirming it, whereas Mevo+ has those features right now (excluding official RCT compatibility).

No software or firmware updates will give the R10 DTL video, camera alignment or Fusion Tracking. Having had no recent experience with the unit, I'm not certain if the R10 has onboard accelerometers to indicate if the unit is leveled and tilted correctly, or if it has the equivalent of a "ball origin test" to confirm correct placement, but those are factors for the Flightscope as well, particularly outdoors at the range.

All that is ignoring other more esoteric factors, like aesthetics.

Sometimes people want certainty and convenience and are willing to pay for it. The R10 is at least 90% of the Mevo+ at 30% of the cost, just as Mevo+ Pro is to GCQuad outdoors. Whether the remaining percentage is worth the price difference seems to be up to each purchaser. Self-leveling is definitely something I'd pay an extra $600 for.

Edit: why is this in the Skytrak subforum?
