Anyone moved from Mevo+ to Skytrak?

    Hello,

Just curious if anyone’s switched from Mevo+ to Skytrak? I bought a new Mevo+ primarily because I didn’t want to pay a yearly fee for the Game Improvement Plan. Unfortunately the only place I have in my house with over 16 feet of length is my attic. I thought I wouldn’t mind but it’s really dark and dusty and I still can’t swing a driver up there so I’d like to move to a smaller room in the main living area. I also can’t bring friends up into the attic LOL. Anyone switched and have any experience to share?

I’m thinking to buy a used Skytrak and then sell my Mevo+ (or try and trade it if there is a safe way to do that online?). Will I need to do any kind of transfer of ownership of the serial number or anything? Is it pretty painless to get a used one up and running?

Thanks in advance for the help!

    -G

I switched from SkyTrak to Mevo+. I did get tired of paying $100 a year. Plus I found ST not as accurate as Mevo+ is today. Any software you have like TGC2019 or E6 cannot be transferred to ST! You will have to repurchase the software directly from ST. Fortunately I started out with ST and was able to transfer it to Mevo. But it cannot be done in the reverse!!! There was no problem transfer the ST to a new owner. Not sure about Mevo+. You would have to contact FS. Don’t buy ES Tour plus! You may want to keep the Mevo+ because it’s mobile and you can take it with you when you vacation. I usually take it to a driving range and play an e6 course while I travel. For what your looking for. Something more expensive like a Bushnell would be a good choice, but expensive.. Sorry but a ST is a big step backwards from the Mevo+ and I don’t think you would be happy. Hope this help with your decision.

How much room do you have in your space? I've been contemplating switching to the mevo+.

Thanks for the reply. I actually ordered a new Skytrak and it will be here tomorrow so we’ll see. I’ve used Skytrak before and thought it was pretty good. It has a 30 day return policy so if I don’t like it maybe I will go with something else

I think the other review is pretty biased and you should be happy with either system if set up properly. Mevo+ isn't any more accurate than a Skytrak if both are set up properly. Most reviews will also say Skytrak is a little more accurate for indoor use as it uses cameras to measure the ball and not radar like Mevo+

I'd say the main advantages (if you have a good space for it) are delivering more data parameters in a shorter time frame and the lack of persistent user fee.

Skytrak is likely going to be better on indoor spin and spin axis though.

I have 7 feet from Mevo+ to tee. About 8’10” to screen. Reads are perfect. My driver swing speed is 109mph ball speed about 160-163mph. No problems reading the ball. Only issues I run across is when the ball starts to develop a crack. Then it may misread trying to figure out what to measure the spin from…the crack or the dot. On that note I started using a 4 ply ball. It last and holds up much better than a 2 ply ball. Was going Thur 2 ply ball about everyday. 4 ply last me about 4-5 days. Cost more but less money in the long run. Throwing that out there since I have never seen comments on it.
