Skytrak Showing Crazy ball flight and distances

I've had my Skytrak for about 8 months but I'm just starting to see some very odd ball flights. It happens only occasionally but I'm wondering if I have an issue with my unit or if this is just normal. I don't see it discussed here however unless I'm missing it.

Occasionally my ball will flight on screen will change direction, rise and start oscillating. It certainly makes for some long drives. See picture where I hit one with 642 yards of carry. Not bad. Check out the ball flight that goes due west in a tight spiral.

    Is anybody else seeing this?
    Thanks

Hello Fulty - What are your elevation settings set to? Also, are you using normal golf balls when using SkyTrak?

I am using regular golf balls. Whatever I have around to be honest. I have adjusted my altitude up quite a bit to get some reasonable yardages when playing some sim golf. Around 8000 feet. My drivers were going like 210-220 yards when in reality I hit it between 250 - 270. Is my altitude setting causing the whacky flight patters maybe?

Yes. When the altitude is set that high, you will get skewed data like the screenshot above. Here are a couple of things to try for distance issues.

        1. Try placing the ball one inch behind the laser when using a driver.
        2. You can change the elevation to match the environment you normally play in.
        3. Try to change golf balls out regularly. If you are using the same golf balls for over a month+ you will have distance issues.
