  • For those that have returned the product...

    Hello Folks,

I am ready to pull the trigger on purchasing SkyTrak but based on the problems some seem to have I want to have a better understanding of what their return policy is and had a few question. Do they charge a restocking fee? Who pays for return shipping? Was the process difficult?

I really don't want to have return it but want to be prepared just in case!

    Thanks,

This is a crazy suggestion, but why don't you call Skygolf and ask them what their return policy is.

I know it's a bit outside the box, but might just work.

I tried to chat with them since I am on calls most of the day (their chat window wasted my time by telling me that I was talking to "Kenneth Brage" and when I asked the question it turned out to be a bot and not a real person at all). Given also that their CS department seems to be poorly rated by the posts that I have read on this and other forums; I figured it would be best to ask someone who actually went through the process. Maybe they say 30 days but make it a pain? Would you not like to have a full picture?

Thanks though for trying to help me think "outside the box".

Me personally, if I wasn't sure of a $2,000 purchase, I would take 20 mins to call the company.

My thought is, anyone who's returned their skytrak, probably isn't on the forum or if they are, you might be waiting awhile for a reply.

Just trying to help. Good Luck.

I returned my Skytrak but am still following this message board. I had my unit for a couple weeks and was impressed with the results but I really wanted a shield and didn't want to risk a buddy breaking my $1700 toy. What really forced me into returning the unit was their customer service. Eveyone was nice but most had no clue what the Skytrak was when I called to see when a shield would be available. I was told multiple times that a Skytrak specialist would call me back but no luck. Finally I got ahold of a rep who gave me the info to return. I paid shipping and I was refunded all but $25 (which I assume was because I didn't return the e6 balls). All in all I feel like there was no reason to be worried about a refund but be prepared to call multiple times. It really feels like the Skytrak is a small side product right now and not a priority (hopefully and most likely that will change over time).

Thanks RobbyH for your post glad to know they stick to their return policy. The lack of a shield is concerning for me as well. More surfing to see if a DIY shield is an option.

It would take the mother of all shanks to hit the unit. I cant seeing a shield being necessary in all but commercial installations.

It was the weak ball rollout, lack of syncing and customer support that made me send mine back.

It's unfortunate that you returned your units. I agree that customer service has been questionable as well th roll out and data sync issues but overall it's a nice unit. One can build their own screen for protection. I wouldn't let th lack of a screen keep you from the unit.

I'm buying it in winter when I can use it more. IF by that time they have a simulator with it and syncing issues and things fixed.

My thoughts on the shield are the same a Mr. Hogan. You'd really need to hit a horrible shot or be greater than a 20+ cap.

My want is for something that either self levels or has leveling options. I take mine to the range all the time. Works great with yellow balls and my yardages are seriously BANG ON. 8 Iron 150 - even today I was hitting some 7 irons stepping into it to 175 - 180.

To me this is the best bang for the buck out there. I go direct mode at the range and network with full sync at home. MY (that's me) only issue is I don't swing as hard indoors, not sure why, but my yardages are almost always further outside (my sim room is 15' W x 20' D and 11' H) I do have lots of room.

My next step is IF I'm ordering a true strike this week or next and ripping out the optishot completely.........HMMM so many options!!!!

I don't have issues with syncing.....we just put an impact bag in front of the unit.....just put something in front of the unit....it is no big deal.......you could put a box or board or something in front of it.....if you want something to show you a correct ball flight....then this is your unit........agree with golfnut...............you guys wanting all this accurate roll out....don't get it......it aint going to happen....you just need to go hit real balls at the range......that is not a Skytrak thing....it is a simulation thing.

I have no idea how you're protecting your unit with an impact bag.

I suspect he's protecting it from bounce back with the impact bag. But not from shanks.

Well I pulled the trigger and bought a unit yesterday! Right now the plan is to just hit off the mat and eventually build out the room.

Just my 2 cents. If your worried about shanking, take your $$$ and get some lessons. You'd have to hit extreme toe to hit the skytrak.

If your doing that, skytrak won't help you. Talk to your local pro.
