  • SkyTrak suddenly cannot connect to iPad app using Direct Mode?

My SkyTrak recently at times cannot connect to iPad app using Direct Mode - under iPad Settings -> Wi-Fi cannot find SkyTrak's wifi signal? Anybody experienced or experiencing similar problems?

And Seth, any thoughts on why this might be happening and how to fix? If it's a problem specific to my unit, would probably like to return it before it's 6-month warranty is up.

Are you also on your home Wi-Fi? Mine started to do it too, but now it syncs and works great in Network mode. It seems like one or the other modes become proprietary. At my other house it would only work in Network Mode. There is a hard reset pin in the bottom of the unit, but you will lose all data again. I'm not a Tech guy, but mine finally works.

Yes am also on home Wi-Fi. So I was able to practice during yesterday's session using Network Mode even though Wi-Fi signal was not very strong as I was a bit far away from router which is in study.

I've had this problem and I needed to reset the skytrak, There is a large screw hole in the bottom of the skytrak & if you look closely you'll see a pin hole inside it. Turn on the skytrak and use a paper clip to press into the pinhole until all 3 lights turn amber. That resets the device.

      Thanks for the insights guys.

Btw, anyone knows how to (or have tried to) change the Wi-Fi network being used by SkyTrak? Right now my SkyTrak just defaults to my primary Wi-Fi network - however when I'm farther away from the router of my primary Wi-Fi network, I would like to connect my SkyTrak (and my iPad) to my secondary Wi-Fi network in the house instead.

Mine was doing something similar, basically logging out and restarting the app fixed it. There's also a reset button in the screw hole on the bottom, imagine this will restore to factory settings and clear your stored home network from memory.
