Looking to purchase a Skytrak and setup a sim

    Hello Gang,

I purchased a Skytrak back in 2015 and set up a sim. I enjoyed it and later sold it. I have a few questions that maybe I can get answered. I had several internet connection issues at the time. I apologize for all the stupid; I can research the answers below.
    1. Is the current model the same as what I purchased in 2015 or have the made changes?
    2. Is there any other companies I should look at? (Comparable price)
    3. Could you tell me what simulator software is recommended to use? (Practice Gameplay play)
    4. PC or iPad?
    5. Any other info would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks, Jim

I don't have a comparison myself but I did see a couple videos comparing to Bushnell Launch Pro. Yardages and spin were similar, I didn't see if they used different elevation and temp and do not know if Bushnell has that option. My take from those is Skytrak seem to have more curve to the same shot, if Bushnell was 3 yards offline Skytrak would be 5-6 offline and from reading posts here some mentioned spin degradation. Bushnell seems to reduce side spin effect as yardage increases but Skytrak didn't. I have a Skytrak and have no connection issues, I use a PC with WiFi card and direct ethernet so I have auto connect selected for Skytrak wifi signal, open Skytrak app turn on Skytrak and it connects every time.

My thoughts is if you are using the unit to dial in your real golf game and want to be serious about maximizing your game with swing and equipment changes the Bushnell will take you farther if you have the ability. If you want to fine tune your current game with practice and play Sim golf but aren't chasing every last detail the Skytrak is all you should need.

I have a Skytrak and it has helped my short game a ton, shots from 25 yards to maybe 70 yards where you don't have a full swing it has done wonders. I am much more confident hitting the shot so I have less duff and thin shots and my shots are close in distance, still working on offline but I know I can step up and hit a 50 yard shot with confidence and be in the right area.

I haven't fully setup a sim just hit into net and use TV in living room so most of my practice has been short irons with some mid iron. The weather has now changed to limit golf to nice days so I will work more towards sim for winter.

I am going to sell my Skytrak I bought two months ago with game improvement and case if interested or maybe I should wait until sale is over to try lol. Skytrak said they will transfer warranty and membership to new owner. (PM if interested)

I am that guy who is looking for the extra detail to work on real game so I am going to try the Bushnell.

For Software my choice was going to be E6 due to practice options, picking a hole from course and hitting approach shots to green instead of pre set options at chipping range but I think I saw TGC has a similar practice on some courses so when I verify I will go that way since lifetime plan is much much cheaper
