SkyTrak and iPad + Projector Issue

Hello. When I introduce the projector (via a USB-C to HDMI adapter from the iPad), the SkyTrak and iPad stop communicating. Any idea(s) as to why?

SkyTrak, iPhone and projector (via lightning to HDMI) work fine.

SkyTrak, PC and projector (via HDMI) work fine.

I bought a second USB-C to HDMI adapter but have run into the same issue with the above.

I can watch YouTube and such on the iPad to projector, no problem.
