  • Sky track models?

Hello, I am looking at a Skytrack sim and can’t find
anything on their website as to if there are different
models. This came out in 2014 and I know about the software updates but should I be looking for a model
or box that’s 2 years old vs 6 years old?
    Thank you for any guidance.

Sounds like a new model is finally coming? Skytrack website is brutal and says nothing about what their sim does... does it measure or calculate spin axis?

Does this type of unit require less set up space than a Mevo+, Garmin R10?

Definitely requires less space than a Mevo. Essentially, you can use the SkyTrak any space you can swing a club. Mevo requires a minimum of 16 feet, 8 behind the ball, 8 in front. That’s their minimum, they recommend 12 in front of the ball for best results.
I was looking into a Mevo but it won’t fit my space.
Also, the ST cameras do measure spin axis and rate, ball speed, launch angle etc. Club speed data is extrapolated from ball speed, launch, etc. but their algorithms seem good.
I have no idea what the new model will add. Measured club data would be GREAT, swing plane, face angles, impact point etc. but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

For its price point the SkyTrak has been rock solid for years. Their subscription rates are more than reasonable compared to many other products. The transition to GolfTec ownership has been a bit problematic but seems to be getting ironed out.
If their new monitor is as good as the quite old, but still very good, current model I’ll be very excited to see it.
