  • SkyTrak+ Upgrade Worth It?

For someone that mostly uses the range, and wants to see distance and basic direction? I mostly hit wedges and irons, and occasional woods with the range, though I do like the bag mapping and target greens features with the current SkyTrak. I'd pay the extra for meaningful reduction in shot delay.

Also, anyone found that the new Plus requires any different space or environment than the old one (for the radar component)? I have also considered the Rapsodo MLM2 Pro as one feature I would like is the video capabilities to see a replay of the swing, and the impact view.

Any other surprises for anyone that upgraded? 5G work well? Subscription transfer over OK?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or feedback!

Hello -You won't require any additional space with SkyTrak+ in comparison to the previous model. SkyTrak+ is also compatible with 5GHz. Regarding the subscription transfer you mentioned, could you provide more details about what you're referring to?

I am using the SkyTrak now with the basic range (no subscription, as it expired a couple months ago) but plan to upgrade to Game Improvement before I get the new SkyTrak+. Can that be able to be transferred to the new device? My plan was jut to sell the original on eBay without the Plan. Thanks!

You can transfer the plan over to the new unit. If you are not currently using a simulation offering, I suggest considering the Play and Improve plan. This plan provides access to the complete World Golf Tour library in addition to a 15-course package with E6 Connect!

For your range-focused needs with a preference for distance and basic direction, Considering the SkyTrak Plus is a good direction to move to. Improved shot delay has been a nice addition for added feel to your practice sessions. The bag mapping and target greens features with the shot optimizer has been a fun addition to my practice sessions.

If video capabilities and swing replay are important to you, the Rapsodo MLM2 Pro has been great so far but does come with limitations when it come to in depth game improvement.

Explore all your options and see which one aligns best with your needs.

Has anyone who upgraded had any surprises, like needing a more powerful computer or iPad for the SkyTrak+? I know I'll need a new USB-C to HDMI adapter. Anything else?

It's definitely worth the upgrade! Faster shot display, a larger hitting area, improved outdoor performance, and enhanced club data – these are just a few of the benefits. Personally, I love having that feedback on club path, especially when I'm working on making adjustments to my swing.

Thanks Jordan. I agree club data is nice to have for game improvement. I suspect the unit is very accurate. Will post a review once I can do some long term test ing.

I would rather not pay for the new skytrak, But it seems I am out of luck now and my current skytrak is useless as my service provider has upgraded me to 5GHz. Is there any way to make my system work with 5GHz?

RonTK, can't you just get your own router and output a 2.4ghz signal? I wouldn't think that would be hard or expensive (router would be about $100). Your upgraded 5ghz router may also have a setting to output a 2.4 channel in the admin features.

Has anyone tried putting on the Skytrak+ yet? This hasn’t been addressed in any reviews I’ve read (and I’ve read most of them).

What is the USB-C to HDMI adapter for?

Right now I have an iPad outputting an HDMI signal to a TV (but it could be a projector) with a lightning connection and an adapter. A new iPad Pro would have no lightning, just USB-C, so it would require a different adapter.

Is there any Skytrak+ vs (something more expensive) that spends time on accuracy of club path and face angle? The videos I've seen are mostly talk about the basic numbers.

I’m hoping to test it against the Mevo plus and GC3.
