Og skytrak outdoors

Working on putting together my first sim. But in the middle of a lm dilemma. Colder months I’ll be set up in the garage which skytrak would be perfect. I only have 14.5 in length so don’t think I can use a radar based unit. warmer months I’ll have to be outside due to bikes lawnmowers etc keeping me out of the garage. I know the skytrak has issues outdoors but curious if anyone has been able to make it work with any hacks. Like an umbrella in the ground to shade the area or anything like that.
Any tips or advice would be appreciated. The wife won’t let me splurge on something like a blp at the moment and can get a skytrak with fmj for 900 on marketplace near me

The Skytrak struggles outdoors so be prepared for some misreads or no reads. It can work outdoors if you keep out of direct sunlight and on a mat rather than grass. Good luck and keep us posted.

I used my skytrak outdoors only for years, it worked just fine.

I made a little velcro hood which I stuck on top if needed, worked well.

I put pictures up on this forum years ago, just do a skytrak velcro hood search, should come up if you want an idea.

You can use a SkyTrak unit outdoors when hitting in a shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight with the original SkyTrak.
