Is the PC version still on target for next week (Sept 15) ?? My wife is tied of me stealing her IPhone, as that is the only Apple device within our home!

Silence from the forum is not a very comforting feeling.

A subtle conspiracy theory if I may.
All sim options are depending on the release of the new iOS app version. E.g version 2.0.
Since Apple does not give any predictions on the ETA, we all have to wait and see.
Skytrak on the other hand does not want to release the PC version ahead of the WGT iOS version since that is where they will make the most money.
So WGT first in order to grab as many customers as they can and then later the rest to grab the crowd that don't like WGT.
            Comments anyone?

Haha never thought of that before, that's not a bad theory at all. Hope that's not the case as I'm holding out for tgc but definitely possible

WGT will come out first. Makes sense as it is iOS based. It will be cheaper, but not free. Others will come as the pc based version is released.

Just for S&G's I popped out on Skytraks facebook page, saw the preorder for the new protective boxes and what looks like a new software release that supports iphone. Anyhow was going to preorder the box, it shot me over to their web site where i got a pop up box for chat. So I had to pose the question to see what the answer was now. I asked about the pending release of the driod/PC software for us non Apple users. Very long pause, then I received the response trying to get it out by end of the year, figured I would ask the question as the last response here from Skytrak was around the 15th of this month which has come and gone. After that response I decided the heck with it I am not preordering the box yet I will just keep not patiently waiting.

If you had the choice between a Skytrak for £1700 and a GC2 for £3500 which would you choose. No software with GC2, so guessing would be the app (50$ is i believe) in order to get to similar sort of thing that Skytrak currently has. Not sure if TGC costs for 2 units would be the same, but on the hardware cost basis is the GC2 worth more than double the Skytrak. Sure plenty of you have tested both so need an informed decision.

Not sure this will help much but I had that exact choice and purchased a Used GC2 for £3500 rather than go down the SkyTrak route. The tried and tested hardware with tried and tested integration with ProTee and TGC was my primary reason for the additional expense. I'm not saying it's better than SkyTrak, simply that I am very happy with my decision based upon my first weeks of ownership.

how much did you have to pay for the TGC software for use with your GC2. Was it the $995 or the full $1800

I paid the full price for the ProTee software.

If money is no option, you are a teaching pro or have probably around a sub 3 handicap, go with GC2, otherwise i would take skytrak every time. I have friends who have the gc2 and I have hit on them quite a lot as well as my skytrak and for me, i don't see any difference. Pretty much every shot displayed is what i expect from impact, whether it's a draw, block out to the right, low hook, hosel rocket, they all get displayed as anticipated. I was a pre-order and did deal with the early issues of the ball flight length being off, but it is better now and I would venture to guess it will only improve. If you are buying new you are looking at 3x the cost just for the unit alone, that's a lot of rounds of golf or some nice golf trips. To each his own.

Cheers wbond that's the kind of input I was looking for as to whether it was totally worth the extra.

Just thought I would throw some data comparison out there for anyone curious how these two units compare. I owned a GC2 for a few months this summer because it was a sweet deal on a used unit and was honestly an impulse purchase. Never had intentions of keeping it long term. I sold it a month ago because I didn't want to sink a couple thousand more for a gaming PC and software. I recently purchased a Skytrak to try out. I pulled up some GC2 data from about a month ago to compare to my first Skytrak session. This obviously wasn't the same shots being compared, but for reference, I play to around a scratch handicap during the summer. So my swing should be consistent enough to get a decent comparison. One other thing to note, my GC2 was only used outdoors on the course and my Skytrak session was indoors. I very well may not have been swinging as hard indoors. I plan on going outside tomorrow to compare apples to apples. I will report any changes I see. The following are averages from 5 Skytrak shots and 7 GC2 shots with a driver. The Skytrak doesn't give decimal figures on Ball Speed or Carry, so that number is rounded I guess. Like I said, not the most scientifically sound experiment but something to chew on. I'll update tomorrow with outdoor data.

................Ball Speed - Launch - Backspin - Carry

                                GC2.........150.71.........10.8........2,626...... ..245.71

                                Skytrak....145..............10.74......2,796...... ..232
