    Skytrak+ - Wow... just wow...

Coming from MLM2Pro with tons of connection/disconnect issues.

I did my first session with new Skytrak+. I did a PC USB connection and ran not only the Skytrak practice SW but TGC 2019. All I can say is wow...

9 holes at Pebble Beach with a buddy. 2 mis-reads. One was a putt, the other was a shank hard right.

My buddy is a hooker and this thing picked up all of his hooks just like we see on the course.

Of course I end up on the beach once with a need to do a 36 foot high flop shot. It read it perfectly putting me on the green.

It seemed to read short chips MUCH BETTER than MLM2Pro (when it works at all). I shot several 6 foot chips which it picked up no problem.

Being able to putt was fun. Although it will take some getting used to.

But man, 50 shots of practice + 9 holes at Pebble Beach without a single disconnect. The Rapsodo would have died three times.

Good to hear positive feedback on the ST+. I have the original SkyTrak. I had high hopes for the MLM2Pro but sent it back -- too many headaches and maybe I need more indoor range -- but glad to go back to the ST. Still considering an upgrade to the plus.

We did another sim session on Monday night. First it was some driving range then we tried E6 Connect. It worked again very well.

I forget that the Skytrak is using cameras for some stuff and I turned off a light to see the impact screen better and we got a few mis-reads. I didn't consider at the time that this was lighting but it could be.

While putting is cool, I think it is a bit of a time waster in Sim Golf... I mean it is very hard to get it right. I'm a pretty good putter on the course and I still had troubles figuring out the energy and direction. My buddy several times hit a perfectly straight putt only to have it read as coming off the putter face at an angle. So we may not use the putting feature.

I spent the extra $$ for the plastic adjustable height case that SkyTrak+ sells. I am glad I did! My buddy shanked a shot right into it! That may be the only downside of side view launch monitors is you can hit them if you are not a great ball striker. But it survived and I think the case did what it was supposed to.

The protective case is a must-have for any golfer, I think! Anybody can hit an errant shot from time to time. It's better to be safe than sorry.
