Hello,
I’ve had the new skytrak+ for a month and a half and still have not been able to get network mode working without eventually dropping/disconnecting. Usually around 15/20 minutes. The lights go back to red yellow and green while on the Skytrak range meaning it is looking for connection. Exiting the range and/or restarting the app usually doesn’t fix it either (rarely it does though). After rebooting the Skytrak itself it will pick it back up and work for another little while.
I tried splitting my wifi bands on the the XB7 Rogers router and connecting to just the 2.4 or just the 5 GHZ ..both didn’t change anything and the shot delay on 2.4 was pretty bad anyway.
I tested my network speeds in the garage where my sim is and they were usually pretty good, but i suspected maybe intermittently they weren’t, so I purchased a bunch of the Eero 6+ mesh and set 1 up halfway between the Gateway and the garage. My network in the garage is very reliable now, but my Skytrak is still not happy. Still have the same issue.
I saw some posts where people recommended switching to a different wifi channel, but i’m unclear if that is still a possible issue with the newer Skytrak. There are definitely a lot of other neighbor network around (small townhomes). I’ve never had any wifi issues with any other devices so i’m kind of skeptical this would be the issue. What is it about Skytrak that makes only it struggle with this. Unfortunately I am not able to test this either since neither the Eero gateway nor the XB7 from Rogers allow toying with the channel manually. Seems it’s pretty standard nowadays for the equipment to manage it automatically so i’m thinking this can’t be it otherwise Skytrak would be drowning in support tickets lol ??
Please let me know what you think, I am out of ideas lol. Direct mode does work consistently btw but i need internet to Airplay and play E6. I also find the shot delay is longer this way.
Thanks !!
