  • SkyTrak and WGT

    Hi all,

I have seen many people asking about skytrak and WTG and it seems like that the people who are beta testing TGC and E6 have never
played or tested WTG. It seems like nobody in this forum has tested it. There is no videos ... nothing. But from what I keep hearing
skytrak is coming out with WTG first...? Is there anybody who has some more detailed info or talked to somebody who tested it ?
I'm only interested cause I'm pretty sure it will be the cheapest of all versions and to test it out it would be that big of an investment.
I own a skytrak since about 5 month and can't wait for course play. The problem is I'm on the road a lot so I will not be able to play
on a regular basis. That's why TGC ,even that it seems to be the best choice, doesn't make much sense if it's going to be a monthly
prescription. Really hope to get some infos or even videos about skytrak with WTG.

Agreed. Super addictive given the hours and hours spent playing this weekend - queue the requests for playing the courses!

Once full sim options become available for Skytrak, remind me never to play against you!

Which course? My best is 195 on Bandon Par 3 (the easiest one I think). Tahoe was the hardest for me.

Has anyone noticed any distance differences or alignment issues separate from the skytrak app? I noticed a ton of my balls seem to be going right a great degree. I am factoring in for wind in regards to my sight line but still seems further off than what some of the wind numbers would show (i.e. 2-4 miles left to right). I know this is just a beta but was just checking. Still really fun!

              Feedback on the gameplay:

No need to have user input after the shot is complete, where the scorecard is shown.

Just show the card for a set amount of time and automatically move on to the next hole.

That way we don't need to go over to the iPad and press something. Just grip the next club and rip it!!

Yes I did notice this a bit, so I went to the range app to see if I was crazy. I do think there is a lot more tendency for WGT to overstate the hook/slice effect, but that may just be the wind factor.

I did notice too that some shots that I definitely pushed ... Looked like a bit of a pull in WGT.

Agreed. There were some shots that clearly hit left of my center line on my net and thought for sure would be a hook and then somehow found a way to actually even slice on WGT. Definitely is a lot more off base than the Skytrak driving range at this point I would say. Again not complaining as it is just a Beta but definitely not as polished quite yet.

Maybe we actually have to adjust to the target like you do on normal (manual) WGT game play.
For instance, when I play WGT manually, I have to aim well right or left to compensate for wind/slope of green before I hit the shot.

I was not doing this with Skytrak mode, I was just leaving the default target and hitting a push / pull or physically aiming left/ right to compensate for wind. Obviously this would not be ideal, as the launch monitor works best straight away.

Next time, i will start setting/adjusting my aim point correctly on the app, and then hitting a normal shot off the mat. That way, i will keep in the ideal Skytrak hitting window and let the wind do the rest.

                This is too fun.

              Pebble.
I do like the photos as the backdrop, but as suggested months ago the parallax gets disconcerting on some shots.
I started aiming at letters on the menu bar for reference to straight rather than the screen image.

Wow, under 13' on the last hole at pebble. I believe that shot was over 230 yards out. Nicely done.

This seems like it is going to be a lot easier than TGC, no need to update computer. I would like to follow the ball flight, but hopefully that will come. Can you change the aim by moving the target or do you have to swing towards you target, I don't have projector set up yet. Overall very enjoyable.

And it was mensioned many times before but i have to say it again, without you i'm sure more then 50% of us would have send there ST back or never bought it. We really value your Support. So this is not a complain but a idea of improvement. Would it be possible for WTG to add a club selection before every shot so they would be able to generate club stats in the profile? That would be awesome!!!!!

Not taken the wrong way at all - that's good constructive feedback. I'll add it to the list.
