SkyTrak and WGT

Hi all,

I have seen many people asking about skytrak and WTG and it seems like that the people who are beta testing TGC and E6 have never
played or tested WTG. It seems like nobody in this forum has tested it. There is no videos ... nothing. But from what I keep hearing
skytrak is coming out with WTG first...? Is there anybody who has some more detailed info or talked to somebody who tested it ?
I'm only interested cause I'm pretty sure it will be the cheapest of all versions and to test it out it would be that big of an investment.
I own a skytrak since about 5 month and can't wait for course play. The problem is I'm on the road a lot so I will not be able to play
on a regular basis. That's why TGC ,even that it seems to be the best choice, doesn't make much sense if it's going to be a monthly
prescription. Really hope to get some infos or even videos about skytrak with WTG.

at least you were told you would get coupon. ive just been replied with WGT is not available in New Zealand lol. Might just bite the bullet and forefeit the discount coupon and pay $199 . Really sux how i backed them purchasing GiP last year

Yes got it yesterday via live chat from a customer service rep who was really helpful thanks. Glad to see customer support has improved. Will try code when I upgrade to v2.0 hopefully this weekend. Thanks.

I received my coupon around 5:00 pm eastern yesterday. As far as putting is concerned my initial thoughts based on very limited use is that it is too slow. I had a few puts in the 10-14 foot range on a flat green surface which required a putting stroke that on my carpet sent the ball at least 25 ft. That said, Skytrak registered every putt I made. I can't say the same for long shots using my driver, fairway woods or hybrids--with these clubs WGT would often take well over a minute while it went through its "resolving shot" process. On quite a number of occasions it came back with an error message requiring me to terminate the game and start over. In fairness to WGT I did not spend a lot of time setting up my hitting mat or the Skytrak unit--I was too eager to play a few holes. Maybe I will have a more conssistent experience today with a bettter setup.

This sounds like it might be wireless issues. Although, I never once had an issue with WGT during challenge play where I had to terminate and start over, so maybe this is something different. I have noticed that there is variance in how long shot resolution takes from day to day - this pretty much has to come down to wireless, I would think. I use an iPhone 5s, and if nobody else is on wireless, it generally take ~3 seconds.

I feel like the putting is pretty good. I have noticed that some putts seem to go right when I am putting what I think is straight. May be me but just an observation. Driver distance still short compared to skytrak app. Not sure why. I get consistent 250-260 on the app but get only 220-230 on WGT. Irons seem good. Green response is good. Short chips from the rough require harder shot and you cannot really putt off the green like you would in real life. Annoying not to be able to be looking down the target line. Hard to see the shot when you are 45 degrees to the side of a shot

Putting is about 80% there. I get quiet a few NO READS, especially on short putts.

So spoke with customer service for 3rd time. Now i get a reply that the discount coupon is only available to US residents . Im located in NZ , anyone out of US recieved the discount coupon? or those still waiting like myself happen to be outside of US ?

Day 2 and still no email. Customer service is terrible with skytrak. I appreciate a cheap and accurate launch monitor but someone else will enter this market and eat skytraks lunch if they don't take care of their customers.

It was bought out by a chinese group last year - seems they don't apply communist principles abroad!
From my own perspective I'm not overly fussed that their closing the doors. I've played all 3 Wentworth courses and their OK - not amazing. I think they largely get tournaments and a high profile status because of the proximity to London and being surrounded by mansions which are now mostly foreign owned. It is unfair that others will no longer get the chance to play though. I also think the European tour should have serious think about whether they want their HQ attached to such an eliteist venue. Surrey still has plenty of nice courses that the public can play if they have deep pockets and the UK is still litered with accessible top quality courses. My favourite is Trump Scotland near Aberdeen its incredible twice as good as anything on the Wentworth estate.
