SkyTrak and WGT

Hi all,

I have seen many people asking about skytrak and WTG and it seems like that the people who are beta testing TGC and E6 have never
played or tested WTG. It seems like nobody in this forum has tested it. There is no videos ... nothing. But from what I keep hearing
skytrak is coming out with WTG first...? Is there anybody who has some more detailed info or talked to somebody who tested it ?
I'm only interested cause I'm pretty sure it will be the cheapest of all versions and to test it out it would be that big of an investment.
I own a skytrak since about 5 month and can't wait for course play. The problem is I'm on the road a lot so I will not be able to play
on a regular basis. That's why TGC ,even that it seems to be the best choice, doesn't make much sense if it's going to be a monthly
prescription. Really hope to get some infos or even videos about skytrak with WTG.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think we may actually offer a toggle to put the unit in putting mode manually. We've found that putting mode captures those types of chips very well, so it may become a putt/chip mode.

SkyTrak_Seth / Seth, when do you think a toggle to be able to manually switch to putt/chip mode will be implemented into WGT? Thanks.

Well, if it were a simple toggle then it'd probably be done by now. But given the issue we've run into with our other sim partners, we are having to modify the way putting mode delivers all data parameters so you won't end up with chips not holding greens. So to answer your question...can't say.

Anybody else having issues with SkyTrak recognizing putts and short chips and sometimes drives? I haven't used it much lately since playing outside but decided to play a round yesterday with TGC and quit because of the number of putts I had to take before one would register. I'm talking like 15-25 putts before it recognizes one?

I have never had an issue when using the SkyTrak and the SkyTrak range but that's a different scenario with no putting.

Is it a unit issue or a TGC isuue?

SkyTrak_Seth, I second Three Putt. Maybe we are the only two that like WGT, but it would be nice to be able to chip and not lose 2-3 strokes a hole.

Hey guys, sorry for the delay. After we release v2.5.3 (soon), we will dedicate the next release to a new SDK and firmware update. That will cover the smart-putt mode as well as a few other things. Once that is in our app, it will be handed over to WGT. October something-ish.

Nice! Super excited about trying out that new smart putting mode, I'm guessing it will take effect across all the other sim softwares as well? Was just gonna ask if there were any updates on this. Great to hear!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but unless you have a gaming computer WGT is the only option for us on Skytrak for sim purposes right? None of the other options will run on a normal computer they all need a decently set up gaming type of computer set up? So while WGT might have some shortcomings, it's at least nice that it is an option for those of us who dont want to invest another $1000 or more into a gaming laptop to be able to run the other options.

any newer laptop will run TGC but like others have said, will it run smoothly not sure until you try, there are areas that you can turn down the quality and get more performance to help with a lower end computer that is struggling, but most people opt to get the best out of there sim if they are committed to playing there sim on a regular basis.
