ST+ Looses connection 3-4 times in a session

Not sure what the issue is but we've only had the unit for a month or so (Christmas Gift to ourselves) and the until will lose network connectivity and/or just freeze up. We mainly only use the driving range feature and we have a wi-fi extender in our garage a mere 20' away from the unit, so the internet is not the issue. Running on iPad 9. When it acts up, is power down / power on the only way to 'reset' the unit?

do you run it in direct or network mode. I run mine in direct and I might have had 2 disconnects in 4 months.

Is the unit plugged in? if so it may be the usb settings, under device manager for usb properties page > power management uncheck both items. reboot everything and see if that helps.

I have the original Skytrak. I used to used to connect through a direct (PC WiFi to Unit) connection. I had very intermittent connections this way. So, after about 3 years, I have changed to a network connection through my home WiFi, fitting a WAP in my golf shed. The connection is great and very stable. The setup was really easy and I don't even have to reconnect now when I play, it does it automatically. I recommend giving it a try.

If you are only using the driving range, switch to Direct mode connection!

I tried that as I'm having a similar issue and been waiting for Skytrak to do something about it since December so I was hopeful this would help with the issue while I wait for the RMA info (pending since last month). I clicked on 'upgrade' on the splash screen when the new app started and it's been hung on the splash screen about the device rebooting etc....it's been over an hour, device rebooted once at the beginning but no activity on the lights since then. I'm reluctant to kill the process as I don't want to brick the unit, is there a trick to get this to work?

I'm also having issues with usb, my pc won't recognise the skytrak+, it only works in wifi mode. I have reinstalled the driver but no luck, is there a rest option on the skytrak+ and if so, could someone tell me how to do it please. Thank you.

The device reset can be found by clicking on the profile icon on the home screen. Navigate to "About," and from there, you will see the device reset option.

I also have been having problems since last year. Really about the time all the updates and firmware updates started rolling out is when my issues started. When I first got it about 2-3 years ago, USB mode was unusable, the machine was completely missing about 10% of the shots. So I went to Direct mode and that was virtually flawless. Then all the updates started to hit and I would get the "not connected" message about every 25-50 balls. I tried USB mode again and that helped a little, it only disconnected once every 80 balls or so, but the no reads came back too. Currently I am back in direct mode and get disconnected about 2 times over the course of a round. I am also getting about 5-10 no reads per round too. Every is set up correctly too, monitor at the same height as mat, level, etc.

also tried to uninstall the Skytrak app to do the last update thinking that might help, but I can't even uninstall it, I keep getting some "uninstall.exe" file is missing error. Not sure why after updating the software that this file is still missing, but seems to just go along with the rest of the skytrak shit show.

I am actively shopping for a different launch monitor as we speak since the Skytrak has become almost unusable for me.
