A used unit need subscription to work?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to simulator and I just bought a used unit 2 days ago and I'm still are not able to connect directly to the unit on my iphone or PC using the unit's wifi. The previous owner has deactivated his account tie to the unit and I have registered accordingly. I should be able to use the basic software without the need to buy any membership, correct? Or I have to pay the annual fee of any plan in order for the unit to work?

Prior to buying, the seller did a demo and all was good, the unit was able to connect to his phone. Any idea why am I having issue here? Your help is much appreciated.

They are typically painfully slow with this sort of thing. Call skytrak directly or use the chat and they can take care of things right away. Yea you can use the range without subscription but the basic package is well worth the subscription.

Once you register the unit to your account, you will have access to the Basic Plan. It's a free plan that will grant you access to the Practice Range with limited functionality.

thank you Jordan for your reply. I managed to get the unit connected to my iphone now and also the PC. The PC I need to disable the VPN function in my PC in order for it to work. Right now I am only able to connect Direct. I cannot connect to the home network though despite numerous tries. I read from this forum others also faced the same issues with network connection, is it due to wifi 2,4hz ? My wifi is set to mixed, between 5hz or 2,4hz? Does this have a bearing? Also without network connection, I cannot access to E6 software if I choose to upgrade later, correct? I assume with the latest software, it should be able to adapt to today's wifi 6 or 5 etc.
