  • Skytrak+ wont connect to ipad - Stuck in "Discovering" mode

So, I got an 8th gen iPad to use with the Skytrak+ unit I just purchased. App is loaded and I have my profile logged in. I turn on the Skytrak+ unit, got 1 green and 2 red lights on top so it is set up to broadcast a Wi-Fi signal that I can direct connect to. Go to the Wi-Fi settings in the iPad, connect to the Skytrak+, input the password and it says I am connected, but it also says it has "no internet connection". Check the Skytrak+ app and it just sits there in discover mode. "Looking for Connection"...... Nothing.

I have researched connection issues as I had trouble connecting to my phone at first. That said, I do not have a VPN on my iPad. I also do not have a VPN on my home Wi-Fi. So, we can rule that out.

When connected to my home Wi-Fi, my iPad says it is a 192 IP address. When connected to the Skytrak+ it says it is a 10 IP address. I know the 10 IP address thing is an issue for Skytrak, but why is the Skytrak putting out a 10 IP address if it has problems with this type of IP?

I can connect my phone to the Skytrak+ through direct mode and it also says it has no internet connection and it is the same 10 IP address as it says on the iPad, so what gives? Why does the phone connect, but the iPad doesn't? I just downloaded the Skytrak app, so it should be up to date. I just got the iPad and ran all the updates, so it should be completely up to date as well.

BTW, the phone is completely disconnected from the Skytrak+ and the app is fully closed on the phone, so the phone should no longer be connected to the Skytrak+.

    Anyone got any ideas?

Which verion of iOS are you running. Have you tried using the Skytrak while in Guest Mode while connected in Direct Mode for more than 30 minutes straight? I am running into problems with my iPhone and my iPad with iOS 17.5

I'm in the same boat. I don't have the SkyTrak + but the model before it and I also have iPad Air 4th Gen and operating on 17.4.1 and mine is stuck in Discover Mode. I don't even see the SkyTrak listed under my WiFi connections. On the SkyTrak unit itself, from top to bottom, is Red, Yellow, Green. I had no issues the other day with it but now I can't connect.

The light sequence on the unit indicates that it is currently in Network mode and attempting to connect to your home Wi-Fi. If you are still stuck, attempt to locate SkyTrak's internal Wi-Fi in your available networks. If you can't locate it, try performing a hard reset using the button on the bottom of your unit.

I don't have a SkyTrak+ either. My non-plus Skytrak is 7 weeks old. Have you tried resetting the Skytrak (removing the black plug on the bottom and using a paper clip to press in the tiny button for 10 seconds) and then using Direct Mode?
