  • At my wits end. Original SkyTrak

I've had this device for over a year now and its always been a bit picky about its willingness to participate but lately it just seems totally useless. The machine will work fine for sometime out of the gate and then fail in about 4 holes, or it will take me 20 minutes of turn it on and off again before there is a stable connection. I've done everything I can think of. I have a wireless repeater that it connects to with almost full bars of wifi, connected it to the primary router etc. (Full disclosure, I am a cloud infrastructure engineering and network technician, I've tried everything).

I didn't fully understand what "misreads" were when I read the reviews but they are not just "the ball didn't track". Its that, plus, red dot disappears with three green lights and nothing works, reboot, or randomly lose wifi connection mid swing and try again, or well, we registered club movement in your waggle and wont read your shot.

This thing was great early. It had its issues, and I was going to live with its behavior, even though I bought in March of last year, Rapsodo released its next version WITHOUT AS MUCH AS A PEEP to warn potential gen1 new users they would upgraded out of relevance within mere weeks.

I'm not even sure I want to sell this paper weight at this point as it feels like a scam.

Does anyone have ANY suggestions on how to fix these problems? Does anyone else have these issues? It may likely be the last Rapsodo product I buy given all of the issues and the duplicitous behavior of hiding the release of a new version to sell old stock. Might as well have burned $2,000 grand at this point.

Welcome to being "SkyJacked". Most of us have been through it.

Advice: sell it for 500-750. Upgrade to a Foresight or Uneekor product.

Ha, damn shame. About what I expected to hear.

      Appreciate the validation.

may have tried this but how about direct connect? I have a Skytrak + my only problem is sometimes it will connect wifi sometimes i have to connect direct connect. Once connected it might have disconnected 2-3 times in 8 months use. My unit has been almost flawless. I run GSPRO on it and it's been great.

This is a good suggestion. Can I use direct connect with USB? If I use it over wifi I cannot authenticate to E6.

Foresight or Uneekor are obviously high end, proven devices, but they also come at a high price point. You may want to heck out the Rapsodo MLM2Pro. It has to be the single best entry market launch monitor available at around $700 USD. I have had this LM for approx 3-4 months and it works like a charm every single time. Zero issues and extremely accurate data.

X2 on using Direct Connect via WiFi. It's much more stable than Internet or USB. Just have your computer hooked to the internet via Ethernet or a second WiFi module.

I have had my Original Skytrak for three years. It worked basically flawlessly up until about a month ago. I sent an email to support@protee-united.com explaining the issue. Within a couple hours I received a reply. I clicked on the link they supplied which allowed them to take control of my laptop and the issue was fixed. Super-fast and easy.

Which simulation offering have you been using? I assume you have been in Network mode this entire time. Try connecting via USB mode in your next session and see if you still experience the same disconnection issues.

Thank you for the suggestion. USB is on the agenda for today.

Thanks for the replies and the help, and the criticism. Made me feel less like an insane person.

USB connection does appear to be the real deal solution here. It even feels like it improves response time.

Going to sit on this one for a while and feel it out.

          Thanks again.
