Anyone heard any updates from SkyTrak on when 5.0 will be available for iOS? I think I saw 'August' a while back but I know how software release timelines slip
I too would be pretty keen to understand the launch date. Just renewed my subscription to the ‘essential’ package which talks up the ‘NEW driving ranges’ but I’m running the home sim off an iPad and can’t find anything (apart from this thread) with any details of when the new software will be realised on iOS
On X, SkyTrak responded to a question on 8/22 saying that it is coming in less than a month. I also saw on the website at one point “around September” for newer devices with an M2 chip which I believe is Gen 5 iPads and newer.
UPDATE - I got a reply from the SkyTrak Support team and they are shooting for the end of Sept or Oct. Still not a definitive date, but maybe we're getting closer.
Looks like the iOS version is available for download on the skytrak site now. Has anyone tried it yet? Would be very interested to find out how course play is (graphics, lag, etc) on iOS.

I just ST’s post on FB about iOS and MacOS. I downloaded the new ST app…which was quite a ways down in the App Store list of apps.
First pop up I receive is Your Device Doesn’t Have Enough Memory.
Got the same thing mate. I’m 2mb short of memory for the new driving ranges on the iPad…and 1mb short with my iPhone 14
Looks like I’ll be in the market for an M1 chipped iPad then too 🤑
Edit: dug out a pretty old laptop and installed the Windows version. No memory issues, but is pretty laggy on the range. Good enough to defer the new IPad purchase though
So far running great on an M2 iPad. Played #7 on Pebble a bunch of times, really enjoyed it!
I have been trying to troubleshoot. Is your iPad connected to a projector? if so, is it wirelessly or HDMI? Also is the sky track connected to the iPad in direct mode or network mode? I have had some success playing one hole at a time if I do not modify the tee, auto putt or any of the other settings. If I try to play multiple holes, it always crashes.
So, are the new range features (the wall to hit around, etc.) worth it versus the 'old school' range from the original ST driving range? I mainly just use the range and closest to the pin (not course play) so I'm wondering if investing in a new iPad is worth the new driving range features.
Anyone know if the course play graphics are worse with iOS than pc (like how e6 downgrades the graphics quality on their iPad version)?
Not sure what the PC version looks like so I can’t compare. The iOS version does have 4 or 5 levels which the graphics can be set from MAX to LOW. They look better than the iOS E6 graphics.
